Today, June 3, the second playday of IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 1 begins, and it will be one of the key days in the race for qualification to Stage 2. After yesterday’s matches, the teams have already split into three groups — 2–0, 1–1, and 0–2 — and today’s results will determine the first participants of the next stage as well as the first eliminations from the tournament.
Today is the day we will learn the first teams to finish Stage 1 with a perfect 3–0 record and qualify directly for Stage 2. At the same time, the 2–1 and 1–2 groups will be formed, and the first participants to end their Major run after a 0–3 loss will also be decided.

Teams with a 2–0 record will fight for early qualification to Stage 2, the 1–1 teams will try to move closer to qualification or avoid the danger zone, and the 0–2 matches will effectively become elimination series.
