One of the longest chapters in Counter-Strike history has officially come to an end. Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson announced his departure from Fnatic after nearly 12 years with the organization, closing a legendary era that began in 2014 and produced multiple Major titles, countless trophies, and one of the most iconic lineups in CS history.
“The Viking has been on the battlefield for the last time in black and orange”

In an emotional message shared on social media, KRIMZ confirmed that his journey with Fnatic had reached its conclusion.
After almost 12 years it comes to an end.
The Swedish veteran thanked the organization for helping him achieve his childhood dream and described Fnatic as his home and family throughout more than a decade of competition.
For the past 12 years, you’ve been my home, my family, and my life.
KRIMZ also expressed his gratitude to former teammates, coaches, and staff members, saying that the memories they created together would stay with him forever. Addressing the fans, he admitted that recent years had been difficult but emphasized that he had always given everything he had while representing the famous black-and-orange jersey. Perhaps the most symbolic line came near the end of the statement:
The Viking has been on the battlefield for the last time in black and orange.
He finished the post with the words:
Over and out. #AlwaysFnatic
Fnatic Responds
Fnatic quickly replied to the farewell message, writing:
Thank you for everything Freddy, you always have family here.
The response summed up the relationship between the organization and one of its greatest players. Few names have become as closely associated with Fnatic as KRIMZ, who remained with the club through multiple roster eras and became the last active link to the legendary 2015 lineup.
Community Calls KRIMZ a Legend

The announcement immediately triggered an outpouring of reactions across the Counter-Strike scene. Former coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen wrote:

MEZII simply called him an:
Absolute legend.
Former Major champion Dosia added:
See you on the server, papa.
James Banks praised KRIMZ’s incredible longevity:
True legend of the game who’s seen and done it all. Can’t even imagine Fnatic without you Freddy!
NIP CS posted:

NaToSaphiX echoed the thoughts of many fans:
For someone who doesn’t follow other esports, there is no FNATIC without Krimz.
Meanwhile, numerous supporters remembered the glory years of 2015 and 2016, with one fan writing:
Prime fnatic 2015-16 was the best CS.
Another added:
12 years I remember being a kid watching you play, now it’s ending.
Several community members also noted that modern Fnatic never fully deserved the loyalty KRIMZ showed during the difficult years, while others jokingly suggested that it was time for him to join olofmeister and f0rest in legendary FACEIT battles.
The End of an Era
KRIMZ joined Fnatic in 2014 and became one of the pillars of the organization’s golden generation alongside JW, flusha, olofmeister, pronax, and later dennis. During his time with the team, he won two Majors and numerous Tier-1 trophies while building a reputation as one of the most consistent players in Counter-Strike history.
Even as rosters changed and results declined in recent years, KRIMZ remained loyal to the organization and became one of the scene’s greatest examples of longevity and dedication.
With his farewell, another iconic chapter of Counter-Strike history comes to a close. For many fans, Fnatic and KRIMZ were inseparable names—and judging by the reaction across the community, that legacy will not be forgotten anytime soon.
