Liquid have officially moved Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek to the inactive roster, ending his 15-month period with the team. For the organization, this is another step in the rebuild after a difficult season, poor results, and unstable performances at major tournaments.
A captain change after a failed period
In the club’s statement, they said goodbye to the Polish IGL quite warmly: “Saying goodbye to a captain is never easy. Thank you, Kamil, for your leadership on the server and the work ethic you showed every day.” But behind the emotional wording is an obvious sporting decision: Liquid need a new impulse, and that is exactly why the team is preparing for the arrival of Johnny “JT” Theodosiou.
Moving siuhy to the bench looks not like a sudden step, but like a logical continuation of the problems that had been building up over the past year. The Polish captain joined Liquid in April 2025, but he never managed to transfer to the new roster the level of structure that had previously made him one of the most promising IGLs in Europe.
Liquid regularly lost ground, failed in group stages, and too often looked like a team without a stable playing identity. The contrast between expectations for a roster with such individual players and the actual results was especially painful, as the team often failed to impose its tempo even at lower-tier tournaments.
Why siuhy could not restart Liquid
The main problem was not only the results, but also how exactly Liquid lost their matches. The team often looked unconvincing on the T-side, where an IGL is usually expected to provide clear structure, quality mid-round calling, and the ability to unlock the strengths of star players.
In Liquid’s case, this did not happen. Even after several roster changes, the team could not stop the decline and finished the season without noticeable progress. The exit from Stage 1 of IEM Cologne Major with a 2–3 record only reinforced the impression that the current model no longer worked.
JT as an attempt to change the team’s style
Johnny “JT” Theodosiou is expected to take siuhy’s place. He has already been added to Liquid’s roster submission for BLAST Bounty Season 2, although the transfer has not yet been officially announced. If this move is confirmed, Liquid will effectively change not just one player, but the entire approach to managing the game.
JT is a captain with a different profile. His teams have often been built around discipline, structure, and clear roles. For Liquid, this may be exactly what they lacked in the recent period: less chaos, more simple decisions, and a clearer system around NAF, EliGE, and malbsMd.
The second change of the offseason
Moving siuhy to the bench has already become Liquid’s second major change of the offseason. Earlier, the organization replaced Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak with Georgi “Jorko” Mitev, meaning the rebuild has affected several key roles at once.
Liquid’s current active roster looks as follows: Keith “NAF” Markovic, Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa, and Georgi “Jorko” Mitev. Siuhy and ultimate remain on the bench, while the team is still awaiting the final formalization of its new captain.

A debut straight against Vitality
The toughest part of this story is the calendar. Liquid’s updated roster is set to debut on July 24 at BLAST Bounty Season 2, and their first opponent will be Vitality. This is almost a perfect stress test for the new version of the team: there is minimal time to adapt, while the opponent’s level is as high as possible.
Such a match will immediately show how much an IGL change can affect Liquid’s structure. Even if the team is not fully ready, it will be important to see the basics: whether the attack becomes more organized, whether there is more clarity in roles, and whether strong individual players can get more freedom under the right conditions.
Liquid begin a new rebuild attempt
Moving siuhy to the bench is not just roster news, but an admission that the previous Liquid project did not work. The team had enough names, experience, and firepower, but could not turn that into a stable result.
Now Liquid enter a new stage with Jorko, the expected arrival of JT, and a very difficult debut against Vitality. If this rebuild works, the team may finally get a clearer structure. If not, it will only deepen the question of how far Liquid will have to go in their next changes.
