Luminosity defeated LP 2:1 in the Upper Bracket Quarter-final of Radio Popular Roman Imperium Cup VIII and advanced to the next round. It was the first match victory for the organization since returning to Counter-Strike in July 2026 after starting the new project with five consecutive losses.
LUMINOSITY ENDED THEIR WINLESS START
- Ancient (LP pick) — Luminosity 11:13 LP
- Dust2 (Luminosity pick) — Luminosity 13:2 LP
- Nuke (decider) — Luminosity 13:7 LP
LP took the opening map after building an 8:4 lead on Ancient. Luminosity improved after halftime and won seven rounds on the second side, but the comeback stopped at 11:13.
Dust2 was completely different. Luminosity dominated their own pick from the start, went into halftime ahead 10:2 and won all three rounds after the side switch to close the map 13:2.
The momentum continued on Nuke. Luminosity built a 9:3 advantage in the first half before trading rounds after the break and finishing the decider 13:7.
The victory ended a difficult start for the new Luminosity project. After returning to Counter-Strike on July 1, the organization lost its first five official matches and won only one map during that stretch. The poor results led to Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras being moved to the bench, with Simon “yxngstxr” Boije joining as his replacement. The series against LP was the first official match for yxngstxr under the Luminosity tag.
