Monte are officially returning to full-fledged competition in CS2. Three months after disbanding the previous roster, the Ukrainian organization introduced a new five-man lineup, bringing together familiar names for the club and players from different European scenes.
Monte begin a new chapter
The main roster includes St0m4k, sdy, br0, mantuu, and CYPHER. Thus, Monte are once again forming an international roster, but this time its central figure is sdy, for whom returning to the organization carries special symbolism.
In its announcement, the club itself emphasized that it is not trying to literally return to 2023. Monte called the new project the next chapter of their history, although sdy’s presence inevitably brings associations with one of the organization’s most successful periods.
sdy and br0 are back together
One of the main storylines of the new roster is the reunion of sdy and br0. Both players already know each other well, and now they have once again ended up in the same roster, around which Monte will try to build a new competitive system.
For sdy, this is also a full return home. The organization specifically played up his comeback in the announcement, emphasizing that history tends to repeat itself, but this time Monte want not to copy the past, but to create something new.
An international roster with experienced names
The Ukrainians St0m4k and sdy are joined by Danish player br0, Polish sniper mantuu, and British rifler CYPHER. In terms of profile, this is a fairly diverse roster: it has experience at a high level, a strong AWP player, and performers capable of taking on aggressive roles.
At the same time, Monte did not choose the path of a fully Ukrainian roster. The organization once again opted for the European model, where players from different regions are united around a shared system and English-language communication.
T.c will lead the team
T.c became the head coach of the new roster, while JamezIRL became the analyst. Thus, Monte immediately formed not only a playing five, but also a full-fledged staff that will have to build the team’s structure practically from scratch.
The work of the coaching staff may become one of the key factors at the start of this project. The players have different backgrounds and experience, so the speed with which Monte can build a stable map pool, define roles, and establish team synergy will largely show the real potential of the roster.
Monte return after a three-month pause
The new roster appeared roughly three months after the previous team was disbanded. During this time, Monte effectively restarted their CS division and are now returning with a roster that is noticeably different from previous versions of the club.
The first official matches will show how successfully the organization has combined these five names. But the main intrigue is already obvious: whether sdy and company will be able to bring Monte back to the level at which this tag once became one of the most notable representatives of the European scene.
