MOUZ secured their spot at the BLAST Open London Finals after defeating G2 2-0 in the Group B upper bracket match. The “mice” once again proved to be a tough opponent for the European giants, while G2 will now have to fight for survival in the lower bracket final against the loser of Team Spirit vs FURIA.

Road on the tournament

MOUZ began their tournament run with a tense clash against Imperial. Despite a disastrous start on Overpass — suffering a crushing 2-13 loss — the team quickly bounced back and confidently closed out the next two maps, taking the series 2-1. This resilience showcased their determination to fight for a place in London. It’s worth noting that the last time MOUZ faced G2 at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025, they also came out on top, winning two maps in a row — Nuke and Inferno — both with a 13-8 scoreline.

G2, on the other hand, had a much smoother start. Their first opponent was Team Liquid, who are currently going through a difficult period in their performances. The European side gave them no chance: 13-8 on Train and a dominant 13-3 on Inferno ensured a convincing advance. Such a confident opening boosted their ambitions, and the team entered the match against MOUZ hungry for revenge.

Match result

MOUZ confidently closed out their series against G2 with a 2-0 victory, booking their ticket to the BLAST Open London Finals. The battle started on Ancient, where the “mice” seized full control right from the first rounds, finishing the half with a dominant 11-1 lead. After the side switch, G2 managed to find their rhythm and nearly caught up, closing the gap to 12-10. However, MOUZ held their ground in the crucial round and secured the map in their favor.

The fight then moved to Mirage, where a similar scenario unfolded. MOUZ once again dominated the first half, going up 9-3. In the second half, G2 tried to mount another comeback, cutting the deficit to 12-10. Yet once again, MOUZ prevailed in the key round, sealing the deal at 13-10 and with it the entire series.

Best player of the match

Despite the defeat, the best player of the series was SunPayus, whose consistent performance earned him the highest rating of 1.17. The Spaniard repeatedly saved his team in difficult situations and kept the tension alive until the very last rounds of both maps.

For MOUZ, the decisive factor was the young talent Jimpphat. His stable play across both maps provided the team with the necessary edge: Swing statistic of +2.95% and an overall rating of 1.16. His composure in crucial moments was instrumental in securing MOUZ’s place in the final stage of the tournament.

Decisive matches ahead

The loss against MOUZ sends G2 down to the lower bracket final, where they will face the loser of the Team Spirit vs FURIA matchup. This will be their last chance to stay in contention for a slot at the BLAST Open London Finals, making it a high-stakes battle.

Meanwhile, MOUZ continue their journey in the Group B upper bracket, where they will play the winner of Team Spirit vs FURIA. That match will be decisive: the winner qualifies directly to the LAN Finals semifinals, while the loser will begin their playoff campaign from the quarterfinals.
