MOUZ survived a three-map battle against GamerLegion to reach the Esports World Cup 2026 quarterfinals. The European side secured a 2-1 win after a comeback on Nuke.
The match had everything: a close opening map, extended overtime on Ancient, and a dramatic decider. GamerLegion were close to completing an upset, but MOUZ overturned an 10:2 deficit to take the series.
MOUZ win three-map thriller
MOUZ opened the series with a 13:11 victory on Mirage, their own map pick. GamerLegion stayed competitive throughout the game and brought the score level late. However, MOUZ held their nerve in the final rounds to claim the narrow win.
GamerLegion responded on Ancient in a marathon second map. The teams were tied 12:12 after regulation, which sent the game into overtime. GamerLegion then won the extended extra period 10:7 and closed the map 22:19, forcing a deciding Nuke.
The final map produced the biggest twist of the series. GamerLegion built a commanding 10:2 lead before the side switch and looked set for a quarterfinal appearance. Meanwhile, MOUZ delivered a near-perfect second half, completed the comeback, and won Nuke 13:11. As a result, MOUZ sealed the series 2-1.

torzsi leads MOUZ
Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás was MOUZ’s highest-rated player in the series with a 1.15 Rating. The Hungarian AWPer finished with 63 kills and 50 deaths, while posting a 71.9% KAST rating.
Dorian “xertioN” Berman also made a major contribution. He recorded 69 kills, a 79.1 ADR, and a 1.14 rating. In addition, Lotan “Spinx” Giladi ended the match with a 1.13 rating and the highest ADR of the series at 82.3.
VRS points after the match
The win gave MOUZ 22 VRS points, taking their total from 1,899 to 1,921. They remain third in the VRS ranking after the result.
GamerLegion lost five VRS points, dropping from 1,590 to 1,585. The defeat also moved the team down from 22nd to 23rd place in the ranking.
A Costly Collapse Ends GamerLegion’s EWC 2026 Run
MOUZ now advanced to the Esports World Cup 2026 quarterfinals, keeping their title hopes alive. GamerLegion exited the tournament in 9th–16th place and earned $35,000. Their Nuke collapse was especially painful, as the team were only three rounds away from eliminating one of the event’s strongest sides.
