Nemiga defeated FUT 2:0 in the quarter-final and advanced to the semifinals of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. They won Nuke 13:11 before closing Dust2 13:9, eliminating a FUT side that entered the playoffs with a 3-0 Swiss record.

The defeat also leaves FUT with only four official matches played with SunPayus, meaning cmtry remains on their current VRS roster card ahead of the PGL Singapore Major 2026 invitation cutoff.

Nemiga punish FUT on both maps

FUT entered the series as the higher-ranked team and had not lost a match during the Swiss Stage, recording victories over TYLOO, Liquid and Vitality.

Nemiga, however, continued their strong Bucharest run after reaching the playoffs through the 3-2 pool.

  1. Nuke (pick Nemiga) — 13:11 in favor of Nemiga
Nemiga built a 9:3 lead in the opening half before FUT mounted a comeback after the side switch. FUT reduced the gap to two rounds, but Nemiga found the final rounds needed to close their own pick.
  2. Dust2 (pick FUT) — 13:9 in favor of Nemiga
The teams entered halftime tied at 6:6. Nemiga then took control after switching sides, winning seven of the final ten rounds to eliminate FUT without requiring Ancient.

dziugss was the highest-rated FUT player with 36–33 K–D, 85.7 ADR and a 1.05 Rating 3.0. SunPayus finished at 1.01.

FUT stop at four matches with SunPayus

The elimination also has implications for the ongoing VRS situation involving FUT, Astralis and cmtry.

FUT played three matches with SunPayus during their 3-0 Swiss run. The quarter-final against Nemiga became their fourth match with the new lineup.

A changed lineup needs five official matches before receiving a new VRS roster card, meaning FUT did not reach the required threshold.

As a result, cmtry remains part of the current FUT VRS roster ahead of the Major invitation cutoff.

This had previously created the possibility of cmtry appearing on both FUT and Astralis roster cards. Valve clarified that if the same player appeared on two eligible rosters, only the higher-ranked team would be able to participate.

Astralis avoided that scenario by replacing cmtry with jabbi before the Ukrainian could play a fifth match for the organization.
