Ninjas in Pyjamas defeated BetBoom Team 2-0 in the Esports World Cup 2026 Group B lower bracket, ending the Russian team’s run in the tournament.

The series was crucial for both teams. Ninjas in Pyjamas avoided elimination and continued their lower-bracket campaign. Meanwhile, BetBoom Team had no room for another loss in Group B.

A Crucial Lower-Bracket Series

Today in a best-of-three LAN format. It was the first round of the Group B lower bracket.

Ninjas in Pyjamas removed Dust2 and Mirage during the veto. BetBoom banned Inferno and Cache. As a result, NIP picked Nuke, while BetBoom selected Anubis. Ancient remained as the potential decider, but the series ended after two maps.

Ninjas in Pyjamas began the series with a dominant 13-3 win on Nuke. They then closed out the match on Anubis, where BetBoom put up a stronger fight but still lost 11-13.

Kacper “xKacpersky” Gabara was the standout player of the series. He recorded 49 kills and 20 deaths, posted 125.6 ADR, and finished with a 2.34 rating. Rasmus “sjuush” Beck also played an important role with a 1.27 rating.

BetBoom did not have a player with a rating above 1.05. Pavel “S1ren” Ogloblin led the team with 25 kills and 25 deaths. Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov ended the match with a 0.64 rating.

VRS Changes

The victory brought Ninjas in Pyjamas 51 VRS points. The team rose from 1,483 points and 29th place to 1,534 points and 25th place.

BetBoom lost 24 VRS points after the defeat. The team’s total fell from 1,746 to 1,722 points. However, BetBoom remained in 11th place in the ranking.

What the Result Means

Ninjas in Pyjamas delivered a convincing performance when the team needed it most. A one-sided Nuke and a close Anubis win gave NIP a clean 2-0 result and kept its Esports World Cup 2026 campaign alive.

The result also improved NIP’s position in the VRS ranking, with the team gaining four places. BetBoom, however, leave the tournament after the Group B lower-bracket defeat and will need to recover from a disappointing series.
