Falcons’ triumph at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 continues to fuel discussion across the Counter-Strike community. CIS analyst and insider OverDrive published a series of posts explaining why he believes the new Falcons roster succeeded. He also questioned Spirit’s transfer decisions and argued that another player deserved the tournament MVP. His comments quickly went viral and even prompted a reaction from m0NESY.
OverDrive: Spirit would have been stronger with kyousuke
The discussion began after OverDrive claimed that Spirit could have built an even stronger lineup if the organization had prioritized signing kyousuke instead of m0NESY.
If you keep in touch with kyousuke, call him once a week, ask how he’s doing, and don’t let m0NESY and NiKo get into his head… I think Spirit would have had a roster for years.
Later, the analyst clarified that he meant kyousuke rather than former Spirit player tN1R. He added that Boris “chopper” Vorobyev remains the team’s captain and that kyousuke would have suited Spirit’s long-term project.

m0NESY answers with a clown emoji

The posts soon reached m0NESY. The Falcons star replied on Telegram with a single clown emoji placed over a screenshot of OverDrive’s statement. The short response immediately spread across social media. It collected thousands of reactions and reignited the debate between Falcons and Spirit fans.
OverDrive responds to m0NESY
Instead of ending the discussion, OverDrive questioned whether m0NESY had written the message himself.
It’s probably his brother who wrote it. It’s not m0NESY’s personal Telegram. His brother has access too. You think he writes all the news himself?
The analyst also defended his criticism of Falcons. According to him, the organization relied on spending rather than building a long-term system.
What did Falcons do? They came with a huge bag of money, bought the most expensive players and coaches… There wasn’t any management magic. Just a lot of money.
OverDrive believes kyousuke deserved the MVP

OverDrive also challenged the official MVP decision. Although m0NESY received the award after leading Falcons to their first Counter-Strike Major title, the analyst argued that kyousuke had the better tournament.
I actually think kyousuke deserved the Major MVP more than m0NESY. The youngster also played incredibly well, but what Max did in the playoffs was unbelievable.
The opinion divided fans. Some praised kyousuke’s breakout performance, while others insisted that m0NESY fully deserved the MVP after his playoff display.
Falcons still have something to prove
Despite praising m0NESY, NiKo, kyousuke, TeSeS, and coach karrigan, OverDrive is still not convinced that Falcons have built a lasting championship system. He believes the next few events will provide the real answer.
If Falcons win at least one of the next five tournaments, I’ll admit I was wrong. If they don’t, then I was right.
OverDrive also urged fans to debate his opinions with arguments rather than personal insults.

Community reaction
The CIS Counter-Strike community largely sided against OverDrive. Many users complained that the analyst had dominated the discussion for two straight days.
- “Too much OverDrive in two days.”
- “I’m already tired of him — every evening and every morning it’s all about OverDrive.”
Others mocked his claim that m0NESY’s brother had posted the clown emoji.
- “What did Over even post this time?”
- “20 years decoding clowns.”
Some fans also questioned why OverDrive continued criticizing Falcons after their Major victory, saying he was “throwing hate at his own player.” Although a few agreed that Falcons still need to prove themselves over the coming months, most reactions focused on criticizing the analyst rather than supporting his arguments.
