A major discussion erupted in the CS2 esports community after Russian insider OverDrive, known for his harsh comments on regional scenes, made a statement about Polish CS. His words resonated not only among fans but also among past legends who stepped in to defend their scene.
OverDrive’s Post: From the “Golden Five” to “Radar Teams”
In his post on X, OverDrive compared the past and present state of Polish Counter-Strike:
Polish CS 10 years ago – Legendary golden five!
Polich CS now – radar teams and cheaters…— OverDrive (@ABOverDrive) September 22, 2025
The tweet quickly gathered hundreds of reactions, as the mention of “radar teams” and “cheaters” directly touched on the reputation of the entire Polish scene.
pashaBiceps Responds
One of the most famous representatives of Polish CS — pashaBiceps, part of the legendary “Golden Five” Virtus.pro lineup, defended his region:
The polish scene is growing and we are getting stronger, just accept that we are better
However, OverDrive doubled down on his stance, stressing that the issue goes beyond Poland:
I wish it s true bro, but what i see is not that good. And its not about only Polish cs, its about tier-3 cs as well.
Context: The “Golden Five” Legacy and the Present
In the 2010s, Polish CS was synonymous with Virtus.pro, who with NEO, TaZ, Snax, byali, and pashaBiceps won the EMS One Katowice 2014 Major along with several other prestigious titles. At the time, Poland had the reputation of being one of the centers of world CS.
Today, the picture is much different: there is no stable team in the top 10, and most of the country’s talents compete in international rosters or tier-two teams. On top of that, a string of scandals involving “radar” schemes and match-fixing accusations has damaged the scene’s reputation.

Community Reaction: Both Support and Criticism
The debate quickly expanded beyond the exchange between OverDrive and pashaBiceps, gathering hundreds of comments.
- Dani. (@Danizeh): “Pasha is a good guy but both things here are true. Polish teams are getting better but tier 3 full of radar/fix games to the point where even bookmakers blacklisted them.”
- stevens (@stevens195_): “OverDrive acts like CIS is clean, when historically this region had the most cheaters in CS history.”
- Kromek (@KromekCS): “One of the all-time greats (Major MVP) like pasha is more qualified to talk about CS performance than the other guy.”
- Big Village Studio (@BigVillage_BVS): “Make Polish CS great again! (It always was)!”
- jarek (@dychamadrilla): “We all love pasha but what the hell is he talking about? Literally only weak Polish players and no good teams at all xD”
Some users even mocked OverDrive’s take, pointing out issues in his own region:
Russian CS 10 years ago – 0 top 10 teams. Russian CS now – radar teams and cheaters…
Others reminded that the CIS scene itself has often been at the center of cheating and match-fixing scandals.
Why This Dispute Matters
On one hand, OverDrive’s words hit a sore spot for Polish CS: the lack of consistent top-level progress and recurring reputation scandals. On the other hand, pashaBiceps’ intervention shows that even veterans feel the need to defend the honor of a scene with a rich history but a troubled present.
This debate once again highlights that Polish CS stands at a crossroads. Either young talents will manage to elevate the country to a new level, or criticism like OverDrive’s will continue to shape the perception of the scene as just another “tier-three hub.”
