THUNDERPICK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2026 — FORMAT SPECIFICS
Thunderpick World Championship 2026 will take place in Malta from October 14 to 18 with eight teams participating. The group stage uses a GSL format with Bo3 matches. The winner of the Falcons vs Ninjas in Pyjamas matchup will move to the Winners’ match of Group A, while the losing team will continue the fight in the Elimination match. The two best teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs.
The total prize pool of the tournament is $1,000,000, with $500,000 allocated to players and the same amount to clubs. The champion will receive $250,000 in prize money and a $250,000 club share. The Playoffs will be played in a Single Elimination format with Bo3 in the Semi-finals, Bo5 in the Grand Final, and a separate Bo3 for third place. Falcons are among the main contenders for the title, while NiP will get a chance to test their form against a top-five team.
HEAD-TO-HEAD — THE TEAMS HAVE NOT MET YET
According to the presented statistics, Falcons and Ninjas in Pyjamas have no head-to-head matches with their current rosters. This will be their first meeting, so the potential result has to be evaluated primarily through recent form, individual numbers, and map statistics.
The absence of previous meetings adds uncertainty to the veto. Falcons have significantly more experience against the strongest teams in the world, while Ninjas in Pyjamas have recently shown good results against lower-level opponents. The ability to adapt to the opponent’s tempo and convert advantages on comfortable maps may determine the outcome of the series.
CURRENT FORM
Falcons — unstable results against top opponents
Falcons’ recent results include victories over Natus Vincere 2:1, Aurora 2:0, and TYLOO 2:0. At the same time, the team lost to Spirit 0:2, Vitality 1:2, and earlier lost to Spirit 0:2 again. Thus, Falcons regularly beat lower-level opponents, but have problems in matches against the strongest teams. At ESL Pro League Season 24, they finished in 5–8th place.
m0NESY has the best presented individual numbers with a 1.36 rating over the last three months. He averages 0.85 kills per round, has only 0.58 deaths, 77.9% KAST, a 1.23 multi-kill rating, and 83.9 ADR. Together with NiKo, kyousuke, TeSeS, and karrigan, he forms a roster with high individual potential, capable of controlling the series through strong firepower and experience.

Ninjas in Pyjamas — seven wins in a row and positive momentum
Ninjas in Pyjamas approach the tournament on a seven-match winning streak. Their recent results include victories over Eternal Fire 2:0, BBL 2:0, SINNERS 2:1, and Johnny Speeds 2:0. The team has also shown confident play on individual maps against lower-ranked opponents, which allowed them to improve their results and arrive at the tournament in good form.
stavn has the strongest presented individual numbers with a 1.14 rating. He averages 0.73 kills per round, has 0.59 deaths, 73.7% KAST, and 74.8 ADR. Together with sjuush, Krimbo, adamB, and xKacpersky, he forms a roster that tries to compensate for the gap in individual class through team interaction. At the same time, against Falcons, NiP’s stability will face a much more serious test.
MAP POOL & VETO
Statistics over the last 3 months (Falcons | Ninjas in Pyjamas):
- Cache: — | 46%
- Dust2: 70% | 33%
- Mirage: 57% | 47%
- Inferno: 80% | 64%
- Nuke: 67% | 78%
- Ancient: 20% | 71%
- Anubis: 40% | 67%
Expected veto:
- Falcons can logically remove Ancient. The team has only a 20% win rate across five matches, while Ninjas in Pyjamas show 71% across 17 maps. This is one of NiP’s biggest statistical advantages in the map pool, so leaving Ancient in the series would be a risky decision for Falcons.
- Ninjas in Pyjamas, in turn, can remove Dust2. Falcons have a 70% win rate across ten matches, while NiP show only 33% across six. Such a ban would allow them to avoid one of the favorite’s most comfortable maps and increase their chances of making the series competitive.
Likely maps:
- Inferno looks like one of Falcons’ best choices. The team has an 80% win rate across five matches against NiP’s 64%. Mirage also remains a possible option with Falcons holding a 57% to 47% advantage. Both maps allow the favorite to use the individual skill of m0NESY and NiKo to control key areas.
- Ninjas in Pyjamas can answer with Nuke, where they have a 78% win rate across 18 matches against Falcons’ 67%. Anubis also looks like a promising option with a 67% to 40% advantage, although Falcons may limit access to this map in the next stages of the veto. Mirage could become a potential decider, where Falcons have a slight statistical advantage.
KEY DUELS
- m0NESY vs xKacpersky — an AWP duel in which m0NESY has much more experience playing against top opponents. His effectiveness in opening contacts and ability to win difficult rounds may become Falcons’ main advantage.
- NiKo vs stavn — a rifle duel between two experienced players who can influence the result through stable shooting and proper positioning. For NiP, it will be especially important that stavn maintains a high level of impact throughout the entire series.
- kyousuke vs Krimbo — a matchup that may determine space control and trade efficiency. kyousuke’s aggressive style will create additional pressure on NiP’s defense, while Krimbo will need to provide stability in key situations.
PREDICTION
Ninjas in Pyjamas approach the match with seven wins in a row and have strong statistics on Nuke, Ancient, and Anubis. If the team can get one of its best maps and limit Dust2, it will have a real chance to challenge Falcons. At the same time, most of NiP’s recent victories came against lower-level opponents, so their form has to be assessed with the strength of opposition in mind.
Falcons have a significantly stronger roster in terms of individual potential, sit fifth in the world ranking, and regularly play against top teams. m0NESY is showing a 1.36 rating, while the advantage on Dust2, Inferno, and Mirage creates enough opportunities to control the veto. Despite NiP’s good form, Falcons’ experience and class should secure them the victory and a place in the Winners’ match of Group A.
Projected result: Falcons 2–0 Ninjas in Pyjamas
