BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 continues Stage 1 with a match between HEROIC and The MongolZ. In the first round, the teams will play a Bo3 series, where the winner will continue the fight for a place at the LAN Finals, while the loser will immediately end their run at the tournament. HEROIC independently chose the Mongolian roster as their opponent, but the difference in world ranking and map pool makes this decision quite risky.
BLAST BOUNTY 2026 SEASON 2 STAGE 1 — FORMAT SPECIFICS
Stage 1 is played in a Single Elimination format. All matches are played as Bo3, so every team must immediately show its maximum level: one lost series will mean elimination, while the winner will move on to the next round of online qualification for the LAN Finals.
HEROIC, with the 18th seed, chose The MongolZ, who received the 11th seed. The European roster approaches the match as the favorite according to bookmaker odds, but the Mongolian team holds a much higher position in the world ranking — 15th place compared to HEROIC’s 28th.
HEAD-TO-HEAD — A NEW MATCHUP
The current HEROIC and The MongolZ rosters have not previously faced each other, so no historical advantage has been formed between the teams.
For HEROIC, this will be an important test for the updated roster against an opponent with major international experience. The MongolZ have remained among the strongest teams in the world for a long time, but after roster changes and a series of unstable results, their advantage no longer looks unquestionable.
CURRENT FORM
HEROIC — updated roster and positive results
HEROIC have recently shown fairly competitive results. The team defeated K27 with a 3:0 score and also beat Ninjas in Pyjamas, FaZe, and 3DMAX in Bo3 series. At the same time, losses to HOTU and Liquid show that the new roster has not yet reached full stability.
The key figure is MartinezSa, who has a 1.15 rating over the last three months. His AWP impact and ability to find opening frags may become the foundation for HEROIC’s successful game. Brollan and nilo will also be important, as they must provide stability in rifle duels.

The MongolZ — higher class, but unstable form
The MongolZ have much more experience in matches against top opponents, but the team’s recent results remain mixed. The roster defeated Monte and B8, but lost to 9z, Natus Vincere, BetBoom, and Legacy.
The best individual form is being shown by tikuaq, who has a 1.22 rating over the last three months. He is ahead of MartinezSa in multi-kill percentage and average damage per round. 910, Techno, and bLitz will also have major influence, as the tempo and structure of the Mongolian team’s game will depend on them.
MAP POOL & VETO
Statistics over the last 3 months (HEROIC | The MongolZ):
- Cache: — | —
- Dust2: 55% | 67%
- Mirage: 50% | 40%
- Inferno: 44% | 71%
- Nuke: 40% | 60%
- Ancient: — | 20%
- Anubis: — | —
Expected veto:
- HEROIC are highly likely to ban Inferno — The MongolZ’s strongest map with a 71% win rate. At the same time, the European roster has won only 44% of its matches on this map.
- The MongolZ may remove Cache or Mirage. Cache is practically absent from the current map pool of both teams, while Mirage is one of the few maps where HEROIC have a statistical advantage.
Likely picks:
- HEROIC: Mirage — the most comfortable option for the European team. HEROIC have a 50% win rate compared to 40% for The MongolZ and can use a more structured defensive game.
- The MongolZ: Nuke or Dust2. The Mongolian roster has an advantage on both maps, but Nuke looks especially attractive because of the 20-percentage-point difference.
Possible decider map: Dust2 looks like the most realistic option for the third map. Both teams play it regularly, but The MongolZ have better statistics — 67% wins compared to HEROIC’s 55%.
KEY DUELS
- MartinezSa vs tikuaq — the main individual duel of the series for AWP impact and opening frags.
- Brollan vs 910 — the battle for creating space and stability in rifle duels.
- nilo vs Techno — the matchup in mid-round episodes and decisive late-round situations.
PREDICTION
HEROIC approach the match with good chances of winning. The updated roster has already shown competitive play against strong European opponents, while MartinezSa and Brollan can provide the necessary individual impact.
At the same time, The MongolZ have a higher overall class, more international tournament experience, and a statistical advantage on Dust2, Inferno, and Nuke. If the Mongolian team avoids Mirage and can convert its own map pick, it will be difficult for HEROIC to maintain the same level throughout the entire series.
Projected result: The MongolZ 2–1 HEROIC
