Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás believes the third consecutive victory for MOUZ over Spirit shows the team can consistently compete with the best in the world. Speaking to HLTV after qualifying for the PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 playoffs, the AWPer also revealed that Spirit trash talked MOUZ before the deciding Mirage.
MOUZ recovered from a 2:13 loss on Nuke to win Dust2 13:8 and Mirage 16:14, completing the series 2:1 and advancing to the playoffs with a 3-1 Swiss record.
Third win over Spirit becomes a statement
MOUZ have now defeated Spirit in three consecutive series.
torzsi said one victory could happen by chance and a second could still be explained by a good performance, but believes the third result carries more weight.
One time can happen by chance, second time maybe it was good by us or whatever, but third time I think it’s a statement.
The Hungarian AWPer believes the run proves that MOUZ can compete directly with teams at the top of the scene.
He also pointed to preparation as one of the reasons MOUZ have repeatedly found success against Spirit, highlighting the work of sycrone, xertioN and Xyp9x.
MOUZ know how to limit donk
donk still produced a 1.61 Rating 3.0 in the series, including several important multi-kills on Mirage, but torzsi said MOUZ do not feel additional pressure when the Spirit star begins taking over rounds.
I don’t think we are too scared of him.
According to torzsi, MOUZ have developed a strong understanding of the way Spirit play and how to reduce the space available to donk.
We just understand how to bully donk a little bit and not give him too much space.
Even though donk remained the highest-rated player in the match, MOUZ managed to recover from 10:12 on Mirage and eventually take the map in overtime.
Spirit trash talk added motivation
torzsi also revealed that there was some trash talk from Spirit before the deciding map.
They also trash talked us a little bit before the last map, so I think it was a nice statement to win that Mirage versus them.
The victory came after MOUZ were heavily beaten on Nuke, something torzsi described as a disaster.
He was more satisfied with the reaction afterward, saying the team mentally reset before producing a much stronger Dust2 and surviving a close Mirage.
I think this game showed our mentality is really, really strong.
MOUZ continue to build confidence against top teams
torzsi believes the team have also improved mentally in close matches against elite opposition.
He pointed to three Grand Final appearances this season and the repeated victories over Spirit as signs that MOUZ are building a stronger reputation.
The win in Bucharest secured another playoff appearance for MOUZ, who finished the Swiss Stage with a 3-1 record.
