s1mple and BC.Game Eliminated by FOKUS — PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 Europe Open Qualifier 1

BC.Game with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev were eliminated from the first European open qualifier for PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 after losing 1:2 to FOKUS in the quarter-finals. BC.Game opened the series with a dominant 13:4 victory but then lost two overtime maps, ending their first attempt to reach the Closed Qualifier.

BC.Game entered the match as a clear favorite in the HLTV community vote, receiving 92.9% of the votes against 7.1% for FOKUS. The result nevertheless ended with FOKUS completing the comeback.

FOKUS recovered after a 13:4 opening map

BC.Game started the series comfortably on Dust2. They built a 9:3 advantage in the first half and allowed FOKUS only one round after the side switch, closing the opening map 13:4. Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold led the server with 24 kills and a 1.90 Rating 3.0.

Mirage completely changed the direction of the series. FOKUS led 8:4 at halftime, but BC.Game responded with an 8:4 half of their own to force overtime. FOKUS then won the extra rounds 4:2 and tied the series with a 16:14 victory.

The decider followed a similar pattern. FOKUS again took a 9:3 lead on Nuke before BC.Game produced another 9:3 half to reach overtime. The teams continued trading rounds beyond the first overtime before FOKUS eventually closed the map 19:16 and eliminated BC.Game. Mateo “Matheos” Prišlin finished the map with the highest rating at 1.37.

Banjo finished as the highest-rated player of the full series despite BC.Game recording more kills overall. FOKUS also won five clutches compared to only one for BC.Game, which proved especially important across two overtime maps.

Senzu was the most productive BC.Game player with 67 kills, 79.9 ADR and a 1.19 rating. s1mple finished the series with a 56–42 K–D, 70.6 ADR, 76.8% KAST and a 1.09 Rating 3.0. He also recorded the most AWP kills in the match with 26.

BC.Game lose their first chance to reach the Closed Qualifier

The defeat left BC.Game in 5th–8th place in the first European open qualifier. Only the two semi-final winners qualify for the PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 Europe Closed Qualifier.

FOKUS advanced to the semi-final, where they later lost 1:2 to BET-M and were also eliminated from the first qualifier.

What’s next?

BC.Game still have another opportunity to continue their PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 qualification campaign. The second European open qualifier is scheduled for September 5–6, with two more Closed Qualifier spots available through the same single-elimination format.

The Europe Closed Qualifier will follow on September 9, with only one team from the regional qualifier ultimately earning a place at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026.
