Young Mongolian talent Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold has become the central figure in a new scandal on the Asian CS2 scene. After a high-profile transfer to The MongolZ and later being benched, the player has for the first time publicly explained the reasons behind his split with his former team, NKT.
How it all began
Senzu revealed that he joined NKT in November 2022 after a short trial period. According to him, the contract stipulated full employment, but during six months with the team, he only received two monthly salaries. Moreover, the team’s coach, Machinegun, also did not receive his full payment.
Despite this, the players continued to compete, hoping for an improvement in conditions. However, after the collaboration ended, the organization left the roster at the NKT Valorant team bootcamp, providing neither accommodation nor financial support. The players were forced to spend their own money to stay there for another ten days.
When they returned to Mongolia, the money had run out. Machinegun had just welcomed a newborn child, and the situation became critical. As Senzu noted, it was “the worst period” of his career — one that shaped him as a person.

The role of The MongolZ
After parting ways with NKT, Senzu joined The MongolZ, who, according to him, completely resolved his financial problems — covering both the buyout and outstanding debts owed to the previous organization.
It was at that moment that the player’s career began to rise. He became one of the key elements of the roster, helping The MongolZ win the Esports World Cup 2025 and climb to #1 in the HLTV and VRS world rankings.
According to HLTV, the now 19-year-old player holds a 1.11 LAN rating over the past three months and has earned over $450,000 in prize money throughout his career. Despite his success, in October 2025, he was unexpectedly benched.
There is this misunderstanding about why i left The NKT. I left that team by my own and it was 100% my own decision. After I left the team some thing happened and there's big reason behind it. There's one thing I didn't tell you guys, at first they wanted me to play for 7 days as…

What is known now
At present, Senzu officially remains a member of The MongolZ, but is not part of the active lineup. The team is already testing potential replacements ahead of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, including nocries — a Mongolian player who recently passed the FACEIT verification process and received a permanent FPL invitation.
The MongolZ have not commented publicly on Senzu’s statements, focusing instead on preparing for upcoming tournaments.

The situation and Senzu’s story
The case surrounding Senzu has become yet another example of how fragile the careers of young players can be in professional CS2. His story is not just a conflict between a player and an organization — it also highlights the lack of financial protection for regional teams in Asia.
While The MongolZ strive to maintain momentum before the Major, the fate of one of their most talented players remains uncertain.
