Cache Balance in CS2 Shows a Narrow CT-Side Edge

Cache has remained close to balanced in CS2 since the July 6 update, although Counter-Terrorists hold a narrow edge in both FACEIT and Premier matches. The new figures offer a clearer look at the map’s overall balance rather than simply labelling it T-sided or CT-sided.

This is important because map balance shapes how teams approach every round. Even a small gap can affect economy decisions, mid control, site takes, and defensive setups over a full match.

Cache Results Since July 6

SCOPE.GG shared the side-balance data in a Reddit post. The statistics cover matches played from July 6 to August 13, 2026.

On FACEIT, Terrorists won 48.28% of rounds, while Counter-Terrorists won 51.72%. Premier produced a similarly close result, with a 47.59% T-side win rate and a 52.41% CT-side win rate.

Therefore, Cache has not shown a major imbalance across the two platforms. CTs have won more rounds, but the difference remains below five percentage points in both datasets.

Community Discusses Match Experience

The Reddit discussion showed that players do not always experience Cache’s balance in the same way. One commenter said the map can feel CT-sided in public games because teams often fail to take mid control together. The player also noted that A-site attacks may struggle when defenders react quickly as a full unit.

Another user highlighted the number of exposed angles around A site. According to the comment, this makes the area difficult to attack when players lack coordination, while defenders have several strong positions to hold.

Meanwhile, other users mentioned that gaining mid control on Cache can be painful in public matches. Some questioned whether the statistics reflected their own games at all.

What the Numbers Mean

The data points to a relatively balanced Cache, with a modest defensive advantage. FACEIT recorded a 3.44 percentage-point gap between sides, while Premier showed a 4.82 percentage-point difference.

As a result, Cache remains a map where coordinated T-side play is essential. However, the latest numbers suggest the discussion should focus on maintaining close side balance, not on treating Cache as an overwhelmingly one-sided map.
