The Major Race in Europe Has Narrowed: FaZe Are Going All In, BIG Are Almost There

The European race for Major invites has entered the final stretch, and there is almost no room left for maneuver. At this stage, this is no longer about a wide pool of contenders: the table has narrowed sharply, and the main intrigue now revolves around a few teams for whom every next match is literally defining the season.

SINNERS have almost waited out their chance, and the recalculation has gone in their favor

SINNERS currently look the most comfortable among the teams on the edge of qualification. The updated calculations give them an 85.76% chance to qualify, and that is despite the fact that the team has not played official matches for some time and is simply watching as competitors either secure their slot or ruin their campaign with their own hands.

That is the main paradox of their situation. Unlike the other contenders, SINNERS now effectively cannot improve anything by themselves, yet at the same time the recalculation and surrounding results have started working in their favor. For the team, this is an ideally nerve-racking scenario: you are already almost in, but you have partially lost control over your fate.

BIG made the key step and now stand in a very strong position

For BIG, the last few days have gone much better. After an important victory, the team climbed to a 70.40% chance of reaching the Major and now look like a roster that has genuinely moved closer to the home big event. At the same time, the schedule also gives them a chance to finish the story: at HLC Belgrade Pro, they are awaiting a quarterfinal against ex-Zero Tenacity, while on the other side of the bracket, the important remaining participants include magic and Drama.

Analytically, everything for BIG now comes down to one very simple thing: the team has put itself back into a normal position. Where previously they were living in a zone where they had to watch for mistakes from others, now they have a chance to decide everything through a series of their own matches. And that is exactly why BIG’s current state looks not just more reliable, but also significantly healthier than that of many direct competitors.

FaZe are still in roulette mode, but now everything is as simple as possible

The most nerve-racking story still surrounds FaZe. The updated projection gives them only a 21.44% chance to qualify, and this is already the stage where no elegant phrasing is needed: for them, the Major race has turned into a classic do-or-die scenario.

Now the logic for FaZe is brutally simple. It is not enough for the team to simply “play decently” or hope for problems from others. Everything comes down to the fact that they have to squeeze the maximum out of HLC Belgrade Pro, and any new slip-up will almost certainly leave them out of the Major. That is why FaZe’s current situation looks like pure roulette only on the surface. In reality, it is no longer roulette, but a state where the team has driven itself into a point where survival is possible only through wins here and now.

For Alliance, hope has almost evaporated, and K27 are holding on only mathematically

On the other side of the picture, an almost final verdict is already emerging for those who failed to catch the last train. Alliance remain with only an 8.20% chance, and K27 with 14.20%. For both teams, this is no longer a full-fledged race, but rather a mathematical tail that has not yet been formally cut off, though in practice it already looks almost dead.

This looks especially harsh in K27’s case. The gap to SINNERS may be almost microscopic, but even such a tiny distance in VRS at this stage does not save you if the entire recalculation dynamic has gone against you. And that is exactly where the main drama of the lower part of the table lies right now: teams may be extremely close to one another in points, but the feeling of their real chances is already completely different.

The final stretch now looks much simpler: some are holding on, others have to grind it out

The European Major race update has done the main thing: it has almost removed the fog. SINNERS are now holding a very strong position, BIG have genuinely moved close to qualifying, FaZe have entered total-risk mode, and Alliance and K27 have almost fallen out of the real fight.

At this stage, the intrigue is no longer spread across the whole table. It is compressing into a few specific scenarios, where every HLC Belgrade Pro match matters much more than the tournament’s own status would suggest. And, in short, the main formula of the final days now looks like this: SINNERS are praying, BIG are finishing the job, FaZe are surviving.
