With just one week remaining before the final update, the Major race has entered its most chaotic phase. There is no more room for long-term planning — everything is decided now. Every series is either a step toward the Major or the end of the season. This week brought major movement in the mid-table — the exact zone where the final invites will be decided.
When and How the VRS Ranking Works
Valve updates the official VRS ranking once per month, on the first Monday. This ranking determines everything: direct invites, qualification paths, seeding, and most importantly — Major participation.
Only the official Valve update matters. Third-party projections help track trends, but do not influence invites. The April update will lock in the Major teams — meaning what happens now is decisive.
Tier-2 LANs Are the New RMR
With RMR removed, the system has changed — but the purpose remains the same. Tier-2 LAN tournaments now effectively act as the new RMR. This is where Major qualification is decided. The difference is that instead of one event, the race is spread across multiple tournaments.

Tier-1 teams are intentionally entering these events to:
- secure their position
- gain additional poins
- avoid dropping out of the invite zone
This is where the real chaos happens. One loss to a lower-ranked team can destroy an entire season. One LAN win can secure a Major spot.
Alliance
Alliance made a crucial jump after winning ROG Journey Spring 2026 and delivering strong results at Digital Crusade DraculaN Season 6. These results pushed them directly into a position where a Major slot is now realistic.
Gaimin Gladiators
A solid run at FERJEE In House 2026 helped the team gain important points. They are still outside the safe zone, but remain in contention.
BESTIA
One of the biggest rises of the week. A second-place finish at Radio Popular Roman Imperium Cup VII, combined with six consecutive LAN wins and a title at BC Game Masters Championship Season 1, gave them a massive boost.
FOKUS
The biggest surprise of the week. After winning Urban Riga Open Season 3, a team that barely existed two months ago has already entered the top 50. A true dark horse in the race.
OG
OG capitalized on the LAN window with a strong performance at Roman Imperium Cup VII. They are still outside the safe zone, but now at least have a path.
NRG
No official matches played — and that alone was enough to drop in the rankings. In the current VRS system, inactivity is heavily punished.
MIBR
Two LAN losses against lower-ranked teams had a direct impact. The loss to Gaimin Gladiators at FERJEE In House 2026 was especially costly.

ECSTATIC
Losses to weaker opponents on LAN, combined with low-value wins, resulted in a significant drop.
HOTU
One of the most painful cases this week. Losing key matches against direct Major competitors at BC Game Masters Championship Season 1 had an immediate impact on their position.
