FaZe stumble again as rain admits lack of unity and weak T-sides after Aurora loss

FaZe Clan have once more suffered a setback on the international stage, getting eliminated by Aurora right at the start of the Esports World Cup. After the loss, Håvard “rain” Nygaard gave an interview to HLTV, where he shared his thoughts on the reasons behind the poor performance and the situation within the team.

FaZe’s failure

FaZe continue their streak of weak results. After crashing out of IEM Cologne without even reaching the playoffs, the story repeated itself in Riyadh. This time the team finished dead last at the Esports World Cup, which only intensified the criticism directed at them.

Looking at FaZe’s last five official matches, the picture looks grim. Their only win came against BetBoom, while the other games ended in defeats to Virtus.pro, NAVI, and twice against Aurora. Such a streak highlights that the team’s problems are not short-term.

Rain on weaknesses

Rain openly described his emotional state after the loss:

“Pretty shit to be honest. It really sucks to travel this far and go out so early.”

His words clearly reflect the depth of disappointment within FaZe, who came to the tournament with ambitions but left empty-handed.

He also touched on the in-game issues. “Our T-sides were very weak. We seemed too predictable, and Aurora read us really well,” rain emphasized. He admitted that the team is not always on the same page:

“We have days where everything works great, but there are also days where everyone does their own thing, and we just don’t listen to each other.”

These comments show that FaZe suffer not only from individual mistakes but also from systemic team issues.

Crisis within the team

Rain’s interview paints a picture of FaZe as a team stuck in internal conflicts and instability. A lack of cohesive team play, predictable strategies, and weak T-sides have become the key reasons behind their failures. Even when players show strong individual form, their synergy in crucial moments simply disappears.

The return of broky was expected to give the team a new spark and open a fresh chapter. However, in reality, it only lasted for one match before FaZe once again looked tired and disjointed. If the team doesn’t change its approach soon, even the experience and class of veterans like rain won’t be enough to save them from sliding further down.
