At the end of 2024, one of the most well-known commentators in the CS scene, Anders Blume, found himself in an unpleasant situation — his Steam account was hacked, and all of his skins were completely removed from the inventory. Although it wasn’t a massive collection, the most painful loss was the unique souvenir items from early Majors, historically tied to his career.
What Happened
The hack occurred under fairly unusual circumstances, and Steam Support was unable to help restore the inventory. Unique souvenirs from the first big tournaments — including DreamHack Winter 2013, where Blume was one of the main voices of the broadcast — were considered permanently lost.
So just a heartwarming little story.. my steam account was compromised a while ago, all skins gone.. sucks but whatever I guess.. but @DealWithBread DM'd me and said he'd found one of the 2013 souvenir autosnipers form Dreamhack that was previously in my inventory, and he…

Context: Why These Items Matter
For Anders, these skins held historical rather than market value. Souvenir items from the earliest Majors are extremely rare, and the ones dropped during matches he personally commentated served as a symbolic reminder of the beginning of his career at major events.
How the Lost Item Was Found
An unexpected twist occurred when a well-known trader, active on reputable platforms, accidentally came across one of the souvenirs that once belonged to Blume. It was a Souvenir SCAR-20 | Contractor (Well-Worn), dropped during the DreamHack 2013 exhibition match between Team Duncan and Team Tomi.

Realizing that the item had a history connected to the commentator, the trader contacted him and returned the weapon — without any demands or compensation.
Why This Matters for the Scene
Such cases in CS2 are rare: the return of a valuable item after a hack is an exceptional situation. The community once again demonstrated that supporting veterans of the scene is more important than market profit. For Blume, this is not just a skin, but a part of the history of his work at the early Majors.

The Counter-Strike Community
Although most of the inventory remains lost, the very fact that a rare souvenir was returned became a warm reminder for Anders that the Counter-Strike community is capable of meaningful gestures even in the most unexpected moments.
