The ESL Pro League Season 23 Playoffs take place from March 13 to March 15, 2026, bringing the tournament to its decisive LAN stage in Stockholm, Sweden. After two demanding Swiss stages, only eight teams remain in the race for one of the most prestigious trophies in Counter-Strike.
Unlike the earlier phases, the playoffs use a single-elimination bracket, meaning there are no second chances. One lost series sends a team home immediately. Every match carries enormous weight, and the pressure of the LAN environment often changes the dynamics compared to online play.
With several top contenders already eliminated earlier in the tournament, this playoff stage presents a rare opportunity for new champions to emerge.
Format
The ESL Pro League Season 23 Playoffs feature an 8-team single-elimination bracket played entirely on LAN. All matches are best-of-three, except for the Grand Final, which is played as a best-of-five. Teams begin the stage in the quarterfinals, with winners advancing directly to the semifinals and then to the championship match. There are no lower brackets or second chances — each victory moves a team closer to the trophy, while a single defeat ends their tournament run.

Why the Playoffs Matter
The playoffs represent the true championship stage of ESL Pro League. Results from the online Swiss stages no longer matter once the bracket begins — every match is now a direct elimination. LAN pressure often produces unexpected outcomes. Star players can take over games, underdogs can create upsets, and a single round can shift the momentum of an entire series. By the end of the weekend in Stockholm, one team will lift the ESL Pro League Season 23 trophy and confirm themselves as one of the strongest teams in Counter-Strike right now.
