The EWC qualifiers brought an unusual statistical spike in CS2: eleven maps ended with a 13:0 score in a single day. According to analyst btrams, this is a new daily record for such “clean” results, while the total number of such maps in 2026 has already almost caught up with the figure for all of 2025.
A record day in the EWC qualifiers
According to btrams’ calculations, yesterday’s matchday in the Esports World Cup qualifiers became the most packed in terms of maps that ended with a 13:0 score. Eleven such results in one day is a very sharp jump even for open or large-scale qualifiers, where the difference in team level is often significant.
For comparison, the next closest day by this metric was July 27, 2026, when five “clean” maps were recorded. In other words, the new result more than doubled the previous most notable mark and became a separate indicator of just how uneven the early stages of qualifiers can be.
2026 has almost caught up with the record
The year-by-year dynamic also looks interesting.
- In 2023, there were only 25 such maps,
- in 2024 — 93, in 2025 — 129,
- and in 2026 there have already been 115.
This means the current season is very close to repeating or even surpassing last year’s maximum.
If the pace continues, the 2025 record may fall before the season is even over. The gap between 129 and 115 maps no longer looks large, especially considering that one major qualifying day can sharply change the statistics.
Why 13:0 has become more common
One of the reasons may lie in the qualifier format itself. At these stages, teams with very different levels of preparation, experience, and coordination often face each other. When the stronger roster quickly takes control of the economy, the map, and the opening duels, the opponent is left with almost no room for a comeback.
The MR12 factor is also important. In the shorter format, a match reaches a critical point faster: a few lost force rounds, a failed pistol round, or a poor start to a side can immediately turn a map into a one-sided affair. Because of this, a 13:0 score in CS2 sometimes looks not like a long stretch of dominance, but like the result of a very quick collapse in economy and morale.
What this says about the scene
On the one hand, a large number of 13:0 results may look like a sign of a problem with level balance in open qualifiers. When the gap between teams is too big, some matches lose intrigue even before the side switch, while stronger rosters simply run through opponents without real resistance.
On the other hand, this is a normal part of a large qualification system. Open qualifiers always create space for teams from different levels of the scene, and that is why very one-sided matches appear alongside upsets. The only question is whether such results are becoming too frequent.
The record is already close
The current figure of 115 maps with a 13:0 score makes 2026 one of the most notable years for the number of “clean” blowouts in CS2. After yesterday’s eleven maps in the EWC qualifiers, it became clear that the 2025 record is now under serious threat.
The main conclusion is simple: the scene has received another statistical marker that clearly shows the gap between team levels in qualifiers. If the next major qualifiers continue at the same pace, 2026 may become a new record season for the number of maps where one team did not give up a single round to the opponent.
