FlyQuest are bringing back their charity initiative Project KOALAfication specifically for IEM Cologne Major 2026. During the tournament, the organization has promised to “save koalas” for a series of in-game events: every map won by an Australian team, every pistol round won by FlyQuest, and every map lost by Vitality.
An environmental idea
This is the return of one of the nicest fan initiatives already associated with FlyQuest. The organization is once again combining its appearance at a major tournament with a real environmental idea, turning match results into a reason to support wildlife conservation projects. And this time the system is once again as simple and clear as possible: the more relevant triggers happen during the Major, the more support goes to koalas.

FlyQuest are launching Project KOALAfication again
The Project KOALAfication initiative has already been used by FlyQuest before, and now it is being brought back for Cologne Major 2026 as well. The name itself has long become a signature part of the organization’s style, as it regularly leans into its Australian identity and knows how to turn that not only into marketing, but into a charity story as well.
Now the project is active again for the duration of the Major, and the tournament itself will also become a platform for a conservation campaign.
What exactly FlyQuest are promising to “save koalas” for
The mechanics of the initiative consist of three specific points. The first is every map won by any Australian team at the Major. The second is every pistol round won by FlyQuest. The third is every map lost by Vitality.
The last point, of course, looks the most ironic. FlyQuest have effectively tied charitable activity to the failures of one of the scene’s main favorites, and that is exactly what makes the initiative even more noticeable to the audience.
All of this will run throughout the Major
FlyQuest made it clear that the campaign will continue throughout the entire Major. So this is not a one-time activation for the start of the tournament, but a storyline that will accompany the team and the tournament narrative from match to match.
This is also a good format because fans get an additional reason to follow not only FlyQuest themselves, but also other results that will affect the final outcome of the initiative.
The initiative also got special merch
Alongside the return of Project KOALAfication, the organization has also launched new limited-edition T-shirts in the same theme. It is separately noted that 20% of sales will go toward supporting koala conservation efforts.
So FlyQuest did not limit themselves to just a nice social media idea. The campaign also received practical follow-through through merch, which makes it a полноценная charitable activation rather than just a fun news hook for the duration of the tournament.
The start in Cologne is coming very soon
At IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 1, FlyQuest will begin with a match against SINNERS. That means the team will already have a chance from the very first game to start the initiative counter, at least through pistol-round wins.
In other words, Project KOALAfication starts working not “sometime later,” but literally from the first tournament days.

Project KOALAfication
FlyQuest have brought Project KOALAfication back to Cologne Major 2026 in a great way and once again created one of the nicest initiatives around the tournament. For wins by Australian teams, pistol-round victories, and even Vitality losses, the organization promises to support koalas throughout the entire Major.
This is exactly the kind of case where tournament hype, fan service, and charitable meaning all work well together. And for FlyQuest, this kind of story looks very natural.
