IEM Atlanta 2026 takes place from May 11 to May 17 and becomes one of the final major international tournaments before the summer Major stretch begins. The event brings together 16 teams in Atlanta, USA, including the current best roster in the world — Team Vitality — alongside contenders such as Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid and FUT Esports.
Beyond the trophy itself, Atlanta represents an important checkpoint before the Major. Several teams arrive after weeks of preparation, roster adjustments and disappointing previous tournaments, making this event one of the best opportunities to evaluate the true level of contenders before the biggest stage of the season.
Format
IEM Atlanta 2026 features 16 teams divided into two double-elimination GSL groups. All group-stage matches are played as best-of-three series.
The top three teams from each group advance to the playoffs:

- Second-place teams advance to the quarterfinals as high seeds
- Third-place teams advance to the quarterfinals as low seeds
