Former NAVI player Justinas “jL” Lekavicius has briefly addressed the circumstances behind his departure from the organization, confirming that leaving the team was his own decision. However, the Lithuanian rifler made it clear that he is not yet ready to publicly discuss the problems that led to the split. Speaking on the All About Counter-Strike podcast with James Banks and Devilwalk, jL explained that his time with NAVI still feels too recent to give a detailed account of what happened behind the scenes.
jL is not ready to reveal the reasons behind his NAVI exit
When the conversation turned to NAVI, jL admitted that there are still unresolved details surrounding his final period with the organization. According to the 26-year-old, some information could eventually become public years from now, but he currently has no intention of going into specifics.
To be honest, I feel like my time in NAVI hasn’t been long. There are some things you only find out years after leaving a team — I mean, the public finds out.
He suggested that a more extensive interview about that chapter of his career could happen much later, once enough time has passed.
I will probably do an extended interview somewhere down the line in five years, but right now, with you, I’m not ready to speak about that — the problems we had, the reasons before I left.
Most importantly, jL stressed that the decision to leave NAVI came from him rather than the organization.
It was my own decision, and we’ll keep it at that.
The comments leave plenty of unanswered questions about what happened internally during the final months of his NAVI spell, but jL appears determined to keep those details private for now.
Buyout also complicated jL’s return
Elsewhere in the same interview, jL discussed how his contractual situation affected his attempts to return to full-time competition. He revealed that he could have been back in a team as early as last winter, but his NAVI buyout became an obstacle.
According to jL, organizations have become increasingly reluctant to spend significant amounts on player transfers, while NAVI were unwilling to substantially lower their asking price during negotiations.
After eventually becoming a free agent, jL had more freedom to explore potential opportunities. He also confirmed that there had been interest from two top-10 teams, although he decided against joining because he did not consider them the right fit for his ambitions. His priority remains competing with a roster capable of fighting for trophies.
