Nauisnake challenges the common perception of karrigan, placing him firmly among the greatest IGLs while arguing that his 2022 run with FaZe was uniquely impressive. Despite not labeling him as the GOAT, he emphasizes that karrigan extracted maximum value from a roster that lacked elite, top-five individual talent.
The core argument revolves around historical comparisons. mauisnake analyzes “team of the year” lineups across multiple eras, showing that nearly every dominant roster — from Astralis to NAVI and Vitality — featured at least one top-five player globally. FaZe 2022 stands as the only exception, with no players reaching that tier individually, yet still achieving top results.
Ultimately, the video frames FaZe’s success as a direct reflection of leadership rather than raw firepower. mauisnake argues that this anomaly in Counter-Strike history highlights karrigan’s impact as an IGL — proving that elite structure, system, and decision-making can outweigh pure individual skill at the highest level.
