The Brazilian organization MIBR has taken a decisive step in changing its strategy and officially announced the signing of young Russian AWPer Klimentii “kl1m” Krivosheev from G2 Academy. The player joins on loan and will arrive in Brazil this week to make his debut at ESL Challenger South America 2025 (September 8–9).

A new direction for MIBR

After several disappointing months and dropping out of the top 20 in the world rankings, MIBR’s management decided to strengthen the sniper role by benching Rafael “saffee” Costa. His replacement with the 19-year-old kl1m symbolizes a move away from the traditional all-Brazilian lineup model and a transition to a more open, international approach.

This strategy has already proven successful in the case of FURIA, who achieved a breakthrough after signing Ukrainian AWPer Danil “molodoy” Golubenko. Now, MIBR hopes to replicate that success by trusting a talent who has not yet had many chances to prove himself at the highest level.

Who is kl1m?

Klimentii “kl1m” Krivosheev is one of the most promising players of the CS2 generation. Although his experience against top-50 opponents is limited to just four maps, he has established himself as the undisputed leader of G2 Ares, the academy squad of G2 Esports. 2025 has been a breakout year for him:

  • Average rating of 1.21;
  • MVP performances at Exort Series 11 (rating 1.32) and United21 League Season 35 (1.37);
  • Aggressive CT-side style (83% success in opening duels);
  • Reliable clutcher on the T-side (91% success rate).

His numbers look especially impressive compared to saffee, who has only managed a 0.96 rating this season.

The language barrier challenge

The biggest question worrying fans is the transition to English communication. A team that has traditionally been built around Brazilian players will now have to adapt to a new reality. However, coach Jhonatan “jnt” Silva is confident the change is justified:

We analyzed the situation for a long time and realized that fresh blood is necessary for progress. kl1m will bring not only AWPing skills but also a new perspective. Yes, we’ll need to speak English, but this is a necessary step for our development.

Parallels with FURIA

The Brazilian scene is undergoing a mini-revolution. If the key principle used to be maintaining national identity in the roster, now teams are beginning to open up to young talents from other regions.

FURIA proved that the risk was worth it by bringing in molodoy, who quickly adapted and became one of the team’s main driving forces. MIBR now hopes kl1m can follow a similar path.

Current MIBR roster:

  • Raphael “exit” Lacerda
  • Breno “brnz4n” Poletto
  • Felipe “insani” Yuji
  • Nicollas “nicks” Polonio
  • Klimentii “kl1m” Krivosheev (on loan from G2 Academy)
  • Coach: 🇧🇷 Jhonatan “jnt” Silva
  • Benched: 🇧🇷 Rafael “saffee” Costa

kl1m’s debut will take place at ESL Challenger South America 2025 in early September. For MIBR, this will serve as both a test of their readiness to compete in an international format and an opportunity to prove that the roster changes were necessary.

Given the team’s struggles this year, expectations will be high. But if the new AWPer lives up to the trust placed in him, MIBR could be opening a new chapter in the history of Brazilian Counter-Strike.
