With IEM Atlanta 2026 and PGL Astana 2026 starting in just a few days, the Counter-Strike community is already debating the favorites. Danish analyst Jacob ‘Pimp’ Winneche shared his predictions on X. He called Team Vitality the clear favorite for Atlanta. He also described PGL Astana as a much more open and unpredictable tournament.

Pimp sees Vitality as the team to beat in Atlanta

In his post, Pimp said it is “hard to imagine many other scenarios than Vitality winning” IEM Atlanta. He also named Natus Vincere as the main challenger. According to him, NAVI still have the potential to compete with Vitality despite inconsistent recent results.

Pimp also highlighted Team Liquid as one of the key storylines of the event. The tournament takes place in North America, so Liquid need a strong result before IEM Cologne. A deep run could help the team rebuild confidence and regain momentum.

His comments quickly sparked debate across the community. Many fans questioned whether NAVI have done enough recently to deserve contender status behind Vitality.

Pimp shared a very different opinion about PGL Astana 2026. He described the tournament as “more open” and pointed toward several dangerous playoff contenders. Among the teams he mentioned were FURIA, Team Spirit, Team Falcons, and MOUZ.

Falcons attracted immediate attention because of the organization’s recent roster moves and the growing hype around the project. Spirit remain one of the strongest mechanical teams in Counter-Strike. Meanwhile, MOUZ continue to generate interest after their recent restructuring.

FURIA’s inclusion also caused discussion online. Some fans argued the Brazilian roster looked weak during BLAST Rivals and should not yet rank among the favorites.

Fans divided over Pimp’s predictions

The community quickly turned the discussion into a broader debate about the current state of competitive Counter-Strike. Some users agreed that Vitality remain overwhelming favorites regardless of format or opposition. Others joked that tournament organizers scheduled simultaneous events just to stop Vitality from winning every trophy.

Fans also discussed teams missing from Pimp’s prediction list. Several people pointed toward FUT Esports as a dangerous outsider after the roster finally returned with a full lineup following PGL Bucharest 2026. Other users focused on how quickly the competitive landscape can change before Cologne. Many organizations still need strong results and valuable VRS points during the summer stretch.
