MOUZ: a strong stretch against top opponents

MOUZ beat TYLOO 2:0 and Vitality 2:0. They also took Aurora 2:0 and Spirit 2:1. Meanwhile, their only recent loss came against FURIA in three maps. Therefore, MOUZ arrive in excellent form after several wins over top teams.

Their key player is Spinx. He posts a 1.17 rating, 0.72 kills per round, 0.59 deaths per round, 75.7% KAST, a 1.07 multi-kill rating, +1.41% round swing and 79.5 ADR. He leads Magnojez in rating, deaths per round, KAST and round swing. However, Magnojez is ahead in kills, multi-kill rating and damage, so the star duel is close.

Recent results:

  • MOUZ 2:0 TYLOO
  • MOUZ 2:0 Vitality
  • MOUZ 1:2 FURIA
  • MOUZ 2:0 Aurora
  • MOUZ 2:1 Spirit

Map Pool & Veto

Win rate over the past 3 months (BetBoom | MOUZ):

  • Cache: 40% (5 maps) | 44% (9 maps)
  • Dust2: 29% (7 maps) | 58% (12 maps)
  • Mirage: 62% (13 maps) | 81% (16 maps)
  • Inferno: — (0 maps) | 78% (9 maps)
  • Nuke: 71% (7 maps) | 69% (13 maps)
  • Ancient: 57% (7 maps) | 43% (7 maps)
  • Anubis: 50% (10 maps) | — (0 maps)

Expected veto: BetBoom will almost certainly ban Mirage, where MOUZ win 81% over a huge 16-map sample. In return, MOUZ have a clear reason to remove Ancient, which is one of BetBoom’s best maps at 57%. Inferno is also a danger for BetBoom, since MOUZ hold 78% over nine maps and BetBoom have no recent games there.

After those bans, BetBoom can pick Anubis, where they hold 50% over 10 maps and MOUZ have no recent games. MOUZ can answer with Dust2, where they hold 58% and BetBoom sit at just 29%. Nuke looks like the most likely decider. Both teams post strong numbers there, with BetBoom at 71% and MOUZ at 69%. However, MOUZ’s sample is much larger, at 13 maps against seven.

VRS forecast: MOUZ currently have 1964 points and sit 1st. A win would lift them to 1970 points, and they would stay 1st. A loss would take them to 1944 points, and they would still stay 1st.

BetBoom have 1801 points and sit 6th. A win would move them to 1839 points, and they would stay 6th. A loss would take them to 1786 points, and they would stay 6th as well.

Prediction

BetBoom have real arguments. They beat Spirit, Natus Vincere and Nemiga recently, and Magnojez leads Spinx in kills and damage. In addition, their Nuke numbers are elite.

Still, MOUZ look like the better side here. They hold a wide map pool edge on Mirage, Inferno and Dust2, and they beat Vitality and Aurora without dropping a map. Moreover, Spinx leads his opponent in rating, deaths per round and round swing. However, BetBoom’s Nuke and Anubis numbers give them enough to take a map, so expect a competitive series.

If MOUZ stay solid on Dust2 and Nuke, they should move into the playoffs. BetBoom will need Anubis and a strong Nuke to flip the series.

Projected result: MOUZ 2:1 BetBoom
