Robin “ropz” Kool has sparked a major debate in the Counter-Strike community after Polymarket CS2 reportedly posted an unusual betting line involving the Estonian player.

The line asked whether police would arrest ropz because he arrived in Paris in his Porsche. ropz then appeared in the comments and asked the betting platform to stop.

Why Fans Supported ropz

The dispute quickly became larger than one post. Many Counter-Strike fans backed ropz because they are increasingly frustrated with AI-generated promotional content on social media.

In particular, users criticized creators who publish sponsored Polymarket posts as if they were sharing their own opinions. According to fans, these posts often use artificial scenarios to attract attention and engagement.

ropz strongly addressed this issue in his response. He said he would block accounts that post AI-generated sponsored content on his timeline.

So we just lying and creating shit out of thin air, that’s how low we’re going and all the people sponsored doing AI slop tweets, what a fucking joke genuinely blocking you if i see any of this AI slop on my timeline, this is literal digital cancer.

felps Linked to the Discussion

A theory on X suggested that ropz initially responded to João “felps” Vasconcellos, a former professional player and Polymarket ambassador.

ropz reportedly commented under Polymarket’s original post. Other creators later quoted the post to promote the platform with AI-generated material. According to the discussion on X, felps was the first person to use AI content in this case.

felps allegedly posted an AI image showing ropz being arrested. The image led to a negative reaction from the Estonian player.

A post from one of the Polymarket Ambassadors stated, “Former SK Gaming player Felps posted an AI image of Ropz being arrested and Ropz is NOT happy about it”

felps later deleted his reply. However, a repost of the content remains available in Discord.

The Debate Around AI Promotions

For many fans, the main issue is not simply betting advertising. Instead, they believe that using AI to create fictional scandals around active players crosses a line.

An image suggesting that a player has been arrested can spread fast when users see it without context. Therefore, supporters of ropz argued that this type of promotion can blur the line between advertising and misinformation.

The controversy also raised questions about accounts belonging to former players. Some fans claimed that Polymarket purchases promotions from players who have not competed in Counter-Strike or maintained their public accounts for several years.

A Wider CS Community Issue

ropz’s reaction has become part of a wider discussion about sponsored AI content in Counter-Strike. His message received positive feedback from users who said they are tired of what they call “AI slop” across the scene.

The episode matters because it highlights a growing concern within CS: promotional content should not rely on fabricated situations involving real players. In this case, ropz made his position clear, while many fans agreed that AI-generated arrest scenarios should not be used to promote betting products.
