After another title for Team Vitality, one of the team’s key players, ropz, gave an in-depth interview where he revealed surprising details about their preparation, explained the team’s dominance in finals, and reflected on his own performance. The interview quickly spread across the community — not only because of his confidence, but also due to one shocking detail: Vitality barely practiced before the event.
Vitality won the tournament without practice

The most striking revelation from ropz was about the team’s preparation. According to him, Vitality had almost no practice going into the event:
Before this tournament we didn’t practice at all. We had a media day and squeezed in two short practices — that was it.
This means Vitality essentially arrived at the tournament cold, which makes their dominance even more impressive. ropz also noted that opponents were aware of this and saw it as an opportunity:
Teams knew it… if not now to beat Vitality, then when?

Why Vitality keep winning anyway
Despite the lack of preparation, Vitality continue to win — often closing finals 3-0. ropz believes it comes down to their ability to perform under pressure:
We have the X-factor to pull it off in those moments… when our backs are against the wall, we play our best.
He also highlighted that the team played many close maps throughout the tournament, which helped them stay “in the zone” by the time they reached the final.
ropz on clutch struggles and reputation
Interestingly, ropz admitted that before this match he hadn’t won a single clutch during the event:
Before this match I hadn’t won a clutch this event — I think it was like 0 out of 7.
However, he acknowledged that his reputation still affects opponents:
If you’re known as a good clutch player, people will always think you’re going to make the right play.
He also explained that his lurker role forces opponents to constantly respect his positioning and timings.
Secondary AWP and freedom in his role

Another key topic was his occasional use of the AWP:
I have the freedom in my role… I can do what I think is right. Sometimes I pick up the AWP if it makes sense.
This highlights Vitality’s flexible system, where players are given more individual freedom to adapt mid-game.
Comparing apEX and karrigan
ropz also compared his current in-game leader apEX with his former captain karrigan:
They are very similar… same era, same understanding of the game. But right now apEX is just more on fire with his calling.
What’s next for Vitality
While acknowledging the team’s incredible form, ropz made it clear that their biggest goal is still ahead:
It would be a dream to win everything before the Major… but the Major is the main goal.
CS2 Community Erupts After ropz Interview
The community response was overwhelmingly positive, with many fans praising both the interview and ropz himself:
- “Probably the best post-final interview I’ve ever seen”
- “ropz seems way more open in this kind of setting”
- “Thorin is the best interviewer in the scene”
- “Vitality won without practice… that’s insane”
Many also highlighted the value of in-person interviews and Thorin’s role in bringing out deeper insights from players.

More Than a Win: Why Vitality Are Built Different
This interview once again confirms one thing: Vitality are not just the best team in the world right now — they are a team with a unique championship mentality. They can come into events without practice, struggle in moments, play on the edge — but when it matters most, they always find a way to win. And that’s exactly what makes them the most dangerous team heading into the Major.
