Skin.Club Launches Creators Contest to Support the Artists Behind CS2 Skins

Skin.Club is launching the Skin Creators Contest, a new project created to give CS2 skin artists more visibility, community support, and opportunities to showcase their work. Applications for creators are open from September 7 to September 20. Artists can submit their work and join a competition that will combine creator stories, community participation, voting, prizes, and media support.

For the most successful participants, the contest will also lead beyond the online competition: the top three creators will receive invitations from Skin.Club to attend the HLTV Awards in January 2027. The idea behind the project can be summarized by “Made by People. Loved by Players.” Millions of players recognize CS2 skins, use them every day, and build a part of their in-game identity around them. But the people who actually create those designs often remain much less visible than their work. Skin Creators Contest is designed to put those people in the spotlight.

Why Skin Creators Should Participate

Creating a successful CS2 skin is much more than producing a finished weapon design. Behind every submission are ideas, sketches, experiments, texture work, revisions, and hours spent finding a design that feels right inside Counter-Strike. Even strong Workshop projects can struggle to reach a wider audience when so many new skins compete for attention.

The Skin Creators Contest gives artists another platform to present both their work and themselves directly to the CS2 community. Participants will compete for financial prizes and support, while Skin.Club will provide additional media exposure for creators and their projects throughout the contest.

The goal is not only to showcase finished skins. The project will also tell the stories behind them — introducing creator names, their ideas, work-in-progress materials, and the process that leads from an early concept to a completed design. Greater community attention also gives creators another opportunity to bring visibility to their Workshop projects and get their work in front of more players.

And for the top three participants, the contest will end with an invitation to the HLTV Awards in January 2027, giving them a chance to represent the skin creator community at one of Counter-Strike’s biggest annual events.

Support Your Favourite Skin Creator and Take a Part in a Huge Giveaway

The Skin Creators Contest is not only for artists. Skin.Club users can already join the project and participate in the giveaway, even if they have never created a CS2 skin themselves. Community participation is one of the central ideas behind the project. Throughout its different stages, players will be able to support creators, take part in voting and predictions, and earn additional rewards.

During the Skin Creators Contest, users can support participating creators and become part of the competition from the very beginning. Creators can submit their work and compete, while regular players can support the artists they like and follow the project as it develops.

From Sign up to HLTV Awards in Just Three Steps

The Skin Creators Contest is the first part of a larger Skin.Club project that will continue through the HLTV Awards season. The journey will develop in three main stages:

1. Skin Creators Contest — September and October

The project starts with applications from skin creators between September 7 and September 20. After the application period, the competition will move into qualification and community participation, eventually forming a top 64 for the next stages of the contest. Throughout this period, players will be able to discover creators, follow their work, and support the artists they want to see move further.

2. Skin of the Year Voting — November

In November, the focus will move from individual creators to the skins themselves. The community will vote for the designs they believe deserve to reach the final of Skin of the Year at the HLTV Awards. The voting will eventually determine the two finalists that move forward to the final stage.

3. Predictions and the HLTV Awards — December and January

From December 16 to January 11, users will be able to predict which of the finalists will become Skin of the Year. This will lead directly into the HLTV Awards, where the final result will be revealed and the project will reach its conclusion. In this way, the community follows the entire journey: from supporting the people creating the skins, to choosing the strongest designs, and finally predicting the winner.

Putting the People Behind CS2 Skins in the Spotlight

Skins have become one of the most recognizable parts of Counter-Strike culture. Players build inventories around them, associate certain designs with professional players and memorable matches, and sometimes use the same skin for years. A successful design can become instantly recognizable across the entire community.

But the creator’s name is often the part players know least about. Skin Creators Contest aims to bring these two sides of CS2 skin culture closer together — the people who make the designs and the players who give those designs their place in the game. Throughout the project, Skin.Club will highlight creators, their stories, sketches, concepts, work-in-progress materials, and finished skins. At the same time, players will have an active role instead of simply watching from the sidelines.

For creators, it is an opportunity to gain visibility, community support, financial rewards, media exposure, and a chance to attend the HLTV Awards. For players, it is an opportunity to discover the people behind their favorite part of CS2 culture, support their work, participate in giveaways, vote for their favorite skins, and eventually try to predict the Skin of the Year winner.
