Team Vitality secured a dominant 2-0 victory over B8 in the Group A lower bracket final at IEM Atlanta 2026, eliminating the Ukrainian roster from the tournament and keeping their title hopes alive. In the second featured match of the day, BetBoom continued their miracle run by defeating paiN 2-1 in the Group A upper bracket final to secure a direct semi-final spot.
Road through the tournament
Vitality began their Atlanta campaign with victories over BC.Game and NAVI before suffering a shocking upset loss against BetBoom in the upper bracket. The win over B8 now keeps the tournament favorites alive and sends them into the quarter-finals.
B8, meanwhile, recovered from an opening loss against BetBoom by defeating BC.Game and FUT in the lower bracket, but ultimately fell short against the world’s No.1 team.
BetBoom have now become the biggest story of the tournament. After losing their opening match against B8, the CIS squad eliminated Vitality, defeated B8 in a rematch and now overcame paiN to secure a direct semi-final berth.
paiN entered the match undefeated after victories against FaZe and FUT, but now drop into the quarter-finals following their first loss of the event.

Vitality completely outclass B8 in elimination series

The series began on Mirage — B8’s own map pick — but Vitality immediately took control of the server. Shahar “flameZ” Shushan constantly punished aggressive mid-round plays from the Ukrainian side, while ZywOo repeatedly shut down attempts to gain map control with the AWP. Vitality built an early CT-side lead and comfortably closed Mirage 13-5.
Dust2 followed a similar pattern. B8 briefly looked competitive thanks to several successful entries from s1zzi and npl, but Vitality quickly stabilized the game through superior structure and economy control. apEX constantly pressured middle rotations, while ropz and flameZ denied B8 space around long and catwalk. Once Vitality gained momentum, the map quickly slipped away from the Ukrainian roster. The French organization closed Dust2 13-8 to complete the sweep.

flameZ leads Vitality’s recovery after BetBoom loss

After criticism following the upset defeat against BetBoom one day earlier, Vitality looked significantly sharper throughout the series. Shahar “flameZ” Shushan became the standout player of the match with a 1.57 rating and 89.7 ADR, constantly creating openings across both maps.
Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut also delivered another strong performance with a 1.36 rating, while ropz remained highly effective in late-round situations. For B8, only Danylo “s1zzi” Vinnyk consistently managed to create impact, finishing the series with a 1.24 rating despite the elimination.
BetBoom continue miracle run against paiN

In the second featured series, BetBoom defeated paiN 2-1 and advanced directly to the semi-finals of IEM Atlanta 2026. The CIS squad once again proved they are the biggest surprise of the tournament after already eliminating Vitality earlier in the event.
BetBoom opened the series strongly on Dust2. Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov and Timur “FL4MUS” Marev repeatedly punished paiN’s rotations around middle and B site, helping BetBoom secure a close 13-11 victory.
paiN responded confidently on Nuke. The Brazilian roster looked far more aggressive from the start, with snow and piriajr constantly breaking through upper site defenses. BetBoom struggled heavily to contain the pace of paiN’s T side and quickly lost control of the map, eventually falling 6-13.
However, Anubis completely shifted momentum back toward BetBoom. FL4MUS delivered one of his best performances of the tournament, constantly finding opening kills around canals and middle, while zorte repeatedly shut down late executes with the AWP. BetBoom dominated the deciding map and comfortably closed Anubis 13-5 to secure the series victory.

FL4MUS becomes the hero of BetBoom’s run

Timur “FL4MUS” Marev delivered a massive performance throughout all three maps and finished the series with a 1.40 rating and 94.8 ADR. Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko also played a crucial role with a 1.23 rating and several key AWP rounds on the decider.
For paiN, Rafael “saffee” Costa remained the strongest performer with a 1.13 rating, but the Brazilian side struggled heavily once BetBoom gained economic control on Anubis.

The results also brought several important changes to the Valve Regional Standings:
BetBoom: +27 points → rise to #17
paiN: -17 points → fall to #16
Vitality: 0 points → remain #1
B8: -4 points → remain #17
