An unexpected piece of news has shaken the Ukrainian CS2 scene: Passion UA has made major roster changes right in the middle of qualifications for a major tournament. Such moves seem illogical, especially considering the importance of the current matches and the team’s stable results in 2025.
Trophies and steady progress
Although Passion UA mainly played on tier-2 and tier-3 levels, they started 2025 quite well. The team managed to achieve several notable results:
- Galaxy Battle 2025 // Phase 1 — 1st place
- Rainbet Cup — 2nd place
- YaLLa Compass Spring 2025 — 2nd place
- Glitched Masters 2025 — 1st place
These victories and finals appearances confirmed the team’s stable development and prospects for further growth.
A drastic move mid-run
Today, Passion UA officially disbanded their current roster: Kvem, jackasmo, and DemQQ were benched, while Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk and Oleksii “Topa” Topchiienko left the team. According to HLTV, both Woro2k and Topa have permanently parted ways with Passion UA and are now free agents.
The organization commented:
“We are ending our cooperation with the current roster and thank each player for the journey, dedication, and the moments they gave to our fans!”

What makes this especially shocking is that the move happened on the day of their match against NiP during the qualifiers for StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025. This essentially means Passion UA have lost their chance to fight for a slot at the prestigious tournament.
At the same time, T.c and Munstur remain within the organization, continuing in their roles as head coach and assistant coach, respectively.
Players’ and experts’ reactions
Renowned coach Mikhail “kane” Blagin commented:
“Such roster changes right in the middle of qualifications, and on the day of a match against NiP… I don’t see why they couldn’t wait until the end of the tournament. There must be something we don’t know.”
Former team member DemQQ published a detailed post:
“Time for a reset. I’ll spend it on myself, because no one will be making roster moves until the Major. And when the transfer window opens, that’s when I’ll start thinking seriously. In any case, I’m already looking for a new home. I want to thank my teammates — their hard work, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations. And I want to thank Passion UA for giving us every opportunity and even a bit more. Good luck to them in their new story.
I’m not saying goodbye to you — I plan to keep streaming, but I want to launch a new format. I’ll try streaming from 2 PM. Thanks to everyone.”

Farewell messages from the players
Following the roster’s sudden disbandment, some of Passion UA’s departing members shared personal reflections on their time with the team. Their words reveal a mix of gratitude, lessons learned, and readiness to move forward — offering fans a glimpse into the emotions behind the headlines.
Mykyta “jackasmo” Skyba:
“My two-year story with Passion UA has come to an end. I want to thank everyone who believed in me — from staff to every teammate I’ve shared victories and defeats with. Over this time, I’ve grown a lot as both a person and a player. Special thanks to T.c for his professionalism and positivity — it was a pleasure to work with him despite coming from ‘different worlds.’ I’m starting a new chapter in my life, and I’m confident it will be just as bright.”
Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk:
“There was no synergy, no results, and little enjoyment from the game, with each of us having a different vision of how to win. We tried to fix it, but it didn’t work out. In my opinion, this is the right decision for both the organization and the players. I’m grateful to my teammates for the time we spent together and to the staff for their support. Now I’m turning the page and actively looking for a new team, curious about what comes next.”
While the official reasoning remains undisclosed, these statements suggest that the split was rooted in deeper issues than results alone. For the players, this is both an ending and an opportunity — a chance to rebuild their careers in new environments. For Passion UA, however, the abrupt timing leaves fans wondering whether the decision will ultimately help or harm the organization’s future.
An unexpected end to the story
Passion UA’s decision seems at the very least strange, given the timing and circumstances. Disbanding a roster in the middle of qualifications for a major tournament inevitably raises questions. Perhaps there were internal conflicts or misunderstandings that led to such a drastic move. However, for fans and analysts alike, this came as a surprise that will likely leave a mark on the organization’s reputation.
