A shocking incident has shaken the Counter-Strike 2 scene after a Team Spirit Academy player made a sexist comment toward members of the women’s team Imperial Fe during a practice match. The remark, exposed by Imperial’s player Tory, quickly spread across social media, sparking widespread outrage and forcing Team Spirit to issue an official apology.

How It All Started

The controversy began when Tory shared a screenshot from a scrim between Imperial Fe and Team Spirit Academy White. In the in-game chat, a TSA player using the nickname kogass was seen writing a vulgar message directed at the opposing team:

Team Spirit’s Reaction

The academy’s manager, Soul3, issued an official statement on behalf of the organization:

Today, some of our TSA White players made comments that go against the values we uphold in our academy and within the entire Spirit organization. We sincerely apologize to Tory and her team. The players involved will face the strictest disciplinary measures.

Team Spirit emphasized that the organization always stands for high ethical standards and does not tolerate any form of discriminatory behavior.

Comments from Spirit Players

Opinions within Spirit’s main roster were divided. chopper urged people not to overreact:

Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. I think the girls understand he’s just a kid, that’s all. The org will give him a talking-to anyway, because you just shouldn’t say such things even in practice.

Meanwhile, former Spirit player tN1r argued that the situation was blown out of proportion:

It’s just f***ing hype. They’ve already been told off and warned not to act like that. There was no need to make it public — they could’ve just written to the coach.

These comments fueled even more debate. Some fans agreed that the reaction was “too emotional,” while others insisted that staying silent about such incidents only reinforces the toxic culture within the scene.

kogass Responds

Later, kogass, the TSA White player at the center of the incident, tried to explain his behavior:

It was taken a bit out of context, it came out badly, but I said it without any sexism — just out of habit, since in the CIS no one usually reacts to such things.

Despite his attempt to justify himself, most of the community saw this as a lack of understanding of the seriousness of his actions.

The online discussion revealed a deep divide in attitudes toward sexism and toxicity within CIS esports. Under posts by telegram groops hundreds of comments split into two camps:

  • some sided with Tory, criticizing Spirit Academy for the lack of professionalism and respect;
  • others dismissed the situation as “overhyped” or even blamed “European tolerance” for the outrage.

Among the most-liked comments were both sexist jokes and statements like:

So what? You could say that to guys too — the game’s genderless.

However, many users defended Tory, emphasizing:

The fact that people see this as normal — that’s the real problem.

The TSA White incident highlighted how toxicity and double standards remain a persistent issue in CIS esports. Team Spirit has promised to impose disciplinary measures and review its internal code of conduct. Meanwhile, Tory thanked the community for the support and called for a serious conversation about respect and responsibility in competitive gaming.
