TaZ Returns to Coaching in CS2 and Is Looking for a New Team

Polish legend Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas is once again in the spotlight. After finishing a packed season and parting ways with G2, he officially announced that he is ready to return to active work as a CS2 coach. The former Major champion and one of the symbols of Virtus.pro’s “golden era” calls the past year “the perfect introduction to coaching” and is now openly looking for a new organization.

End of the Season and a New Start

After the BLAST Rivals final, TaZ noted that the current season was one of the most eventful in recent years: intense series, Vitality returning to trophy contention, and FURIA’s incredible form. In his opinion, the upcoming Major promises to be exceptionally spectacular — teams are finally driven not only by tactics and meta, but also by genuine competitive hunger.

Riding this wave of enthusiasm, the Pole announced the end of the first stage of his coaching career and stated he is ready for a new challenge. He emphasized that he works without an agent, meaning he handles all negotiations himself, and he is confident he can help any roster rise to a new level. Over years as both player and coach, TaZ learned not only how to build team structure and coaching staff, but also how to identify talent, surround it with the right environment, and maintain a healthy atmosphere within the lineup.

Experience with G2: Trophies, Pressure, and an Accelerated Course in CS2

G2 became Wojtas’ first international team, where he worked in English and immediately stepped into the heart of the tier-one scene. Over a year and a half, he guided the roster through the transition to CS2, a results crisis, and role restructuring, while still managing to build an impressive résumé: three major LAN titles, including the BLAST World Final 2024, as well as two Major semifinal appearances.

In his interviews, TaZ repeatedly emphasized that his main task in G2 was not to write yet another “meta” tactical playbook, but to bring order to internal relationships, help stars like NiKo and m0NESY adapt to CS2, and restore belief in the system. He worked extensively on team routines, bootcamp approach, player motivation during long seasons, and learned to distribute his influence between analytics, strat-building, and mental coaching.

Despite a challenging 2025, the Austin Major became the last chapter of G2’s shared journey, after which the organization chose to rebuild both roster and coaching staff. For TaZ himself, this did not feel like an ending but more like the completion of an “internship” — now he wants to apply the experience he has accumulated to a new project.

What TaZ Offers to a Future Team

Wojtas openly says he is not afraid to build a team from scratch or take over an established roster missing the final step toward stable playoffs and trophies. On social media, he highlighted several of his strengths: the ability to build structure, work with young players, select assistants for the staff, and maintain an atmosphere in which people want to work.

According to the Pole, a modern coach cannot be only a strategist. He must serve as an “anchor” for the roster: sometimes adding energy and aggression, and sometimes — on the contrary — calming emotions and refocusing players on the game. His many years at the highest level, participation in dozens of playoffs and finals, give him the instinctive background that many young coaches lack.

TaZ openly admits that he dreams of working with another international project — he wants to prove that the Polish Counter-Strike school can set the tone not only inside the country but also on the global stage. At the same time, he does not rule out helping Polish teams occasionally when they need advice or a short-term boost.

Goal — Another Major in the New Game

During his playing career, Wojtas lifted Major trophies in both CS 1.6 and CS:GO. The logical next step is to repeat this achievement as a coach in CS2. He calls this goal his main motivation to return: not just to stand behind a team again, but to build a roster capable of competing for the biggest trophies in the cycle.

TaZ recognizes that he still has room to grow as a coach, but he considers his first experience a successful start: in a short time he adapted to the role, learned to work with an international lineup, experienced the pressure of fans and expectations, and proved that he can deliver results.

Ahead lie the transfer window and preparation for the next CS2 season. The market already features several organizations looking for a new coach or building rosters around young stars. For such a project, a coach with a winner’s mentality, Virtus.pro-era experience, and G2’s modern coaching school might be exactly the missing piece needed for a breakthrough.
