s1mple’s Year with BC.Game: Four Rosters, Constant Rebuilds, and a New Attempt to Reach Tier 1

Almost a year ago, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s move to BC.Game became one of the biggest transfers in modern Counter-Strike. Since then, the organization has rebuilt the roster four times in search of the right formula around the Ukrainian superstar. Each version of the team had its own strengths, weaknesses, and defining moments. Some showed immediate promise, others failed to meet expectations, but every rebuild became another step toward BC.Game’s long-term ambition of becoming a consistent Tier-1 contender.

The First BC.Game Roster

s1mple officially joined BC.Game on July 28, 2025, ending nearly two years without a permanent home. His arrival instantly turned the organization into one of the most discussed projects in European Counter-Strike.

The first months were dedicated to rebuilding both the roster and s1mple’s individual form. BC.Game immediately entered a packed online schedule, producing encouraging wins over CYBERSHOKE, Betclic, Spirit Academy, ENCE and several other opponents. During this period, s1mple quickly returned to being the team’s standout player, highlighted by a 1.58 rating against Spirit Academy.

The new lineup also reached its first final at Exort The Proving Grounds Season 3, defeating OG before falling to BetBoom in a competitive series. Shortly afterward, BC.Game secured its first trophy by winning the ESL Challenger League Season 50 Europe Qualifier, overcoming Alliance in the final after a reverse sweep.

Despite those milestones, inconsistency remained the team’s biggest issue. Strong victories were regularly followed by disappointing losses, and even outstanding individual performances—including s1mple’s 2.09 rating against Nexus—were not enough to produce consistent tournament runs.

The first version of BC.Game proved the project had clear potential, but it also showed that s1mple alone could not carry the team to the next level.

The electroNic Era

The next rebuild reunited one of Counter-Strike’s most iconic duos. After years together in NAVI, electroNic joined BC.Game, immediately raising expectations.

The new lineup made a promising start by reaching the semi-finals of the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship, where s1mple and electroNic quickly demonstrated their chemistry. However, a heavy defeat to BIG exposed the gap between BC.Game and stronger opposition.

The roster then played its first LAN together at Red Bull GIBAWAY Journey 2025. Although the team showed tactical improvement, losses to AM and Alliance ended another tournament before the playoffs.

Online results followed a familiar pattern. BC.Game comfortably defeated lower-ranked teams, but defeats against Sashi, PARIVISION and RUBY repeatedly halted their progress. Individual performances, including s1mple’s 1.37 rating against FORZE Reload, continued to stand out, yet the roster remained too dependent on its stars.

The reunion brought greater structure and excitement, but not the breakthrough BC.Game had hoped for, prompting another major rebuild.

Seeking greater stability, BC.Game signed the core of former SAW, hoping an established trio would provide the structure previous rosters lacked.

The new lineup endured a difficult start, missing qualification for IEM Rio 2026, although s1mple continued to produce elite individual performances, including a 1.57 rating against Nemesis.

Signs of real progress finally arrived at IEM Kraków 2026, where BC.Game defeated Legacy and Ninjas in Pyjamas before falling to 3DMAX, Vitality and FaZe. Strong performances at regional tournaments followed, including victories over Alliance, MASONIC, Voca and 9INE, while s1mple produced a remarkable 2.24 rating against the latter.

However, the team’s biggest weakness remained unchanged. At tournaments such as PGL Bucharest, IEM Atlanta, and the CS Asia Championships, BC.Game repeatedly showed they could challenge strong opponents in individual matches but struggled to sustain that level against Tier-1 teams.

The Portuguese experiment established BC.Game as one of Europe’s strongest Tier-2 teams, yet the gap to the elite remained too significant.

The Current BC.Game

  • Emil “Magisk” Reif
  • Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold

Rather than making another small adjustment, BC.Game once again rebuilt the project from the ground up. The Portuguese core departed, making room for four-time Major champion Magisk and Mongolian talents Senzu and mzinho.

This roster represents the organization’s boldest attempt yet. Magisk brings championship experience and leadership as the new in-game leader, allowing electroNic to return to a full-time rifling role. Meanwhile, Senzu and mzinho add the aggression and pace that previous versions of BC.Game often lacked, while s1mple remains the team’s centerpiece.

The biggest challenge now lies in combining players from different Counter-Strike backgrounds into a cohesive system. If Magisk succeeds in creating that structure, BC.Game may finally possess the balance it has spent the past year searching for.

Whether this lineup fulfills its potential remains to be seen, but on paper it is the strongest roster the organization has built around s1mple.

Will the fourth attempt succeed?

Over the course of a single year, BC.Game have completely reinvented themselves four times. The project began with s1mple’s return to professional Counter-Strike, evolved through the reunion with electroNic, experimented with an experienced Portuguese core, and has now arrived at its most ambitious roster yet.

Each rebuild addressed a different weakness, gradually shaping the team into a more balanced project. Now, with Magisk providing leadership and Senzu and mzinho adding youthful firepower, BC.Game finally appear to have assembled the pieces needed to compete at the highest level.

The only question that remains is whether this fourth attempt will finally deliver what the previous three could not: consistent success against the world’s elite.
