Following new datamines about the upcoming “Make a Souvenir” system in Counter-Strike 2, the community returned to one of the oldest debates in the game’s skin economy — the possible arrival of a Sticker Removal Tool. The discussion exploded after well-known collector and trader Ozzy claimed that the new souvenir system “100% confirms” Valve will never introduce a proper sticker removal feature.
Ozzy Believes Sticker Removal Would Hurt the Economy
Ozzy believes the main problem is the impact on the CS2 economy. He argues that safe sticker removal could heavily damage several parts of the market, especially with the newly discovered souvenir crafting system found in the game files.
He described the possible scenario like this:
- players craft extremely cheap souvenir skins;
- remove the gold stickers from them;
- the market gets flooded with expensive stickers;
- old crafts and the Sticker Shop lose value;
- the entire souvenir system becomes meaningless.
- “Sticker Shop is cooked,” Ozzy summarized in his post.

The Community Quickly Split Into Two Sides
The discussion on X immediately became massive. Some users agreed that Valve would never risk damaging the sticker economy. Others argued that simple restrictions could solve the issue.
Several users suggested disabling sticker removal on souvenir weapons while keeping the feature for normal skins. Others proposed a system where removed stickers automatically become scratched or lose condition during the process.
One user commented:
When you remove the stickers it scrapes them once.
However, Ozzy believes even that solution would not fully fix the problem. In his opinion, players would still start “saving” old expensive stickers from bad 2014–2015 crafts, which could seriously affect the market.
Katowice 2014 Crafts Returned to the Discussion
The conversation also reignited debates around legendary Katowice 2014 crafts. Many players believe it is unfair that extremely valuable stickers remain locked on cheap or ruined skins.
I disagree why have old katowice on crap skins?
Other users defended the current system. They argued that the irreversible nature of stickers is exactly what makes CS2’s skin economy unique. If players could freely dismantle old crafts, many collectible items would instantly lose a large part of their value.

Sticker Slabs Also Became Part of the Debate
Players also brought up Sticker Slabs, which Valve introduced last year. Part of the community now believes Slabs were Valve’s alternative solution instead of adding a Sticker Removal Tool.
Many users think Valve wants sticker application to remain a “final decision.” At the same time, Sticker Slabs already give players a way to preserve stickers separately from weapons.
Valve still has not officially commented on either the “Make a Souvenir” system or the possible Sticker Removal Tool. However, after the latest datamines and the huge reaction from traders and collectors, the topic has once again become one of the hottest discussions in CS2.
