Counter-Strike analyst Duncan “Thorin” Shields has released a new episode of his Roster Mechanic series, focusing on FURIA’s tactical system following the signing of Danil “molodoy” Golubenko. At the same time, analyst Sam “LuzRaposa” Carder shared statistical data suggesting that the Kazakh AWPer has significantly changed his role depending on the map pool, while Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato contributes much more to AWP duels than he is usually credited for.
FURIA’s hidden tactical mechanic

The discussion began with Thorin publishing a new Roster Mechanic video dedicated to what he describes as FURIA’s “Sand Map Secret.” Although the analyst did not reveal all of his conclusions in the X post itself, the video focuses on the tactical adjustments that helped FURIA become one of the strongest teams on specific maps during the first half of 2026.
Shortly after, analyst Sam Carder highlighted several key observations from the episode and supported them with statistical analysis.
KSCERATO does a lot more spacetaking than he is often given credit for, molodoy’s AWPing changes dramatically on maps without sand, and FURIA perform with a handful of specialists and a lot of variance!

Statistics highlight molodoy’s changing role
Carder accompanied his post with a graph comparing AWP duel frequency and duel success across FURIA’s “sand maps.”
According to the data, molodoy ranks among the most active AWPers in terms of opening AWP engagements while also maintaining one of the highest positive duel swings. Meanwhile, KSCERATO appears much closer to other support players in raw AWP usage, but his impact in creating space and taking secondary AWP duels is noticeably higher than many fans might expect.
The analyst also noted that FURIA rely on several highly specialized players rather than having every member perform identical roles, making the team’s performances more dependent on specific map conditions and tactical setups.

FURIA continue to attract tactical attention
FURIA have become one of the most discussed teams in Counter-Strike after their remarkable run to the IEM Cologne Major 2026 grand final. Their aggressive style, flexible player roles, and the arrival of molodoy have sparked numerous analyses from community figures, with Thorin’s latest episode adding another perspective on how the Brazilian squad adapts its structure depending on the map.
While the conclusions remain those of independent analysts rather than official information from FURIA, the discussion once again highlights how closely the team’s tactical approach is being studied by the Counter-Strike community.
