MIBR, the Brazilian team, have received the final invitation to the CS Asia Championships 2025 after tournament organizer Perfect World updated the slot allocation for the second time, reverting to the original format just two months before the event kicks off in Shanghai.
Changes once again
Perfect World has updated the tournament’s Additional Information for the second time since CAC 2025 was announced in April, altering the slot distribution just two months before the event. This time, the organizer reverted to the original allocation, removing two Chinese qualifier spots. One of these went to Brazilian team MIBR, while the other will be awarded to an Asian qualifier featuring four subregions: China, East Asia, Oceania, and Others.
#CAC2025 will add one directly invited team to the main event and adjust the qualifier regions and slots.
[Invited Teams]
CAC 2025 main event will feature 16 teams, with 10 directly invited. The confirmed invites are:

Reaction from professionals
Complexity General Manager Graham “messioso” Pitt sharply criticized Perfect World’s actions, questioning the lack of changes to the VRS invite date despite slot updates.
“This makes absolutely no sense — how can a tournament organizer continually change their slot allocation without being required to update the VRS date? After the first infringement, there were only two options: revert the slot allocation back to the original or use the updated allocation but based on the August VRS instead of July.
Now, with even more slot changes, they should be on the September VRS. Your complete inaction is concerning, and the precedent being set is even more so.”
