Team Vitality has officially unveiled its long-awaited Counter-Strike academy, marking a shift in the organization’s long-term strategy. After years of relying on scouting early talents like flameZ in 2023 and well timed recruitment with ropz in 2025, Vitality now commits to developing its own talent pipeline. They are now following a model already established by top-tier organizations such as NAVI, Spirit and MOUZ who all helped develop top tier talents like donk, xertioN and b1t.

The project, previously known as “Project H”, brings together five young European players under a dedicated coaching staff, with the clear objective of identifying, training, and promoting future Tier 1 talent.

Katkame, is he the new ZywOo ?

At just 16 years old, Katkame has already made a strong impression on the French Counter-Strike scene, and the wonderkid described as the next ZywOo finally links up with Vitality. He started building his reputation through an intense grind on FACEIT where he quickly climbed the ranks and reached Level 10 at only 12 years old. His rapid progression and strong mechanical level have led many to see him as a future star, with comparisons already being made to his Countryman.

Despite this growing reputation, Katkame remains at an early stage of his competitive career, with limited official experience and only a small number of recorded matches so far, where he holds a rating slightly above average.

The Experienced Duo

The riffling core of the roster is built around lucaZ and Dafra1D, two profiles bringing structure and early experience.

lucaZ arrives from NAVI Academy as one of the hottest academy prospects in Counter-Strike and is already the official stand-in for the main roster. He started his competitive experience in Season 46 of ESEA and hasn’t stopped playing since. His experience in a structured setup should help stabilize the team and accelerate collective progress.

Dafra1D, the oldest and most experienced player in the lineup at 19, takes on the in-game leader role, bringing a more developed understanding of the game and prior exposure to competitive environments. He joins the team for kONO, a tier 2 ukrainian organisation and also started competing in the 46th Season of ESEA.

Different Elements to Support the Team

The roster is completed by patrenzo and Reqqen, two emerging profiles with strong development margins. And together, they complete a balanced roster where each player fits a defined role within a long-term development framework.

Reqqen previously played on CPH Wolves Academy and Falcons Force and is a more disciplined player, playing late into the rounds and winning important clutches. patrenzo on the other hand is a more supportive element of the team.

The academy will be led by VdaK1NG, the former data analyst from Vitality’s main team. With a background in statistics and optimization, he recently started scouting players as part of his new role within Vitality. He is expected to implement a structured environment alongside the main team coaching staff, in order to fully accompany the players development.

Strategic implications for Vitality

This academy represents a major step in Vitality’s evolution, as the organization completes its ecosystem by adding a development layer beneath its Tier 1 roster. The goal is clear, reduce dependency on the transfer market while securing future talent internally.

In a landscape where academy systems like Spirit Academy, NAVI Junior or MOUZ NXT have consistently produced Tier 1 players, Vitality now positions itself within the same model, aiming to identify and nurture prospects before they reach peak value.

Beyond player development, the project also strengthens the organization’s long-term stability, offering a structured pathway from grassroots talent to the highest level of competition.

A long-term investment

Vitality Academy is not designed for immediate results, but rather as a long-term investment in the future of Counter-Strike. With a young, international roster and a structured environment, the organization sets the foundation for sustained success beyond its current era.

If the project delivers on its promise, this academy could become a key asset in shaping the next generation of players and ensuring that Vitality remains competitive at the highest level for years to come.
