Team Spirit secured their place in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals Grand Final after defeating FaZe 2-1 in a hard-fought semifinal. Spirit dominated Dust2, dropped Cache after a strong response from FaZe, and closed the series on Anubis to remain on course for another BLAST Bounty title.
Road to the Grand Final
Spirit entered the LAN Finals as one of the favorites after defeating Liquid 2-0 in the quarterfinals. Earlier in the tournament, they had also eliminated 100 Thieves 2-1 in the online stage. The victory over FaZe sends Spirit into their third BLAST Bounty Grand Final, continuing another deep run in an elite event.
FaZe reached the semifinals after defeating Dendele 2-1 online before eliminating The MongolZ 2-1 in the quarterfinals. Despite another strong tournament, their campaign ended one step short of the Grand Final.
Spirit strike first before FaZe respond
The semifinal opened on Dust2, Spirit’s map pick, where the world’s No. 1 team immediately took control. Strong T-side executions and disciplined defense allowed Spirit to cruise to a 13-6 victory, putting FaZe under pressure early in the series.
FaZe answered convincingly on Cache, their own map choice. After a balanced first half, the European side took over following the side switch, stringing together key defensive rounds to claim a 13-9 win and force a decider.
The deciding map, Anubis, stayed competitive throughout. Spirit held a narrow advantage for most of the game before winning several crucial late rounds to close the map 13-11, eliminating FaZe and advancing to the championship match.
Player of the Match
Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov earned Player of the Match honors after finishing the series with a 1.24 rating, 49-31 K-D, 75.6 ADR, and 78.5% KAST. The Russian AWPer consistently delivered impact in key rounds, especially on the deciding map.
VRS impact
Despite the victory, Spirit lost 4 VRS points but remained No. 1 in the Valve Regional Standings. FaZe dropped 25 VRS points, falling from 13th position after their semifinal exit.
